philly decided my car was "abandoned" and without any warning decided to have it towed.

I pick it up in the Port Richmond Ghettos where they decide to let me pay then wait almost an hour (with my tow truck dude thanks jeffros).

I see it rolling up the street from another yard:
covered in mud
both bumpers destroyed
RADIO AND CENTER CONSOLE MISSING
muffler hanger broken

oh it was the civic, and yes i'm going to fight it with my soon-to-be lawyer wifey

oh yeah the whole ordeal costed my $243 plus wasting my time.

it's to pay someone so they can destroy your car.
I'm going to mutilate the junkyard owner's face monday

So...they towed your car for no reason and you got it back quite damaged after paying them $243? Is that what I'm reading here? Where was your car parked?

Philly police said it was considered abandoned and called a local yard to have it towed there.

probably 5 minutes in front of a dunkin donuts and the cop just needed to park

for a couple months actually...

but i thought they would have to put a sticker on it as a warning....

Really! I know that's how it works in the burbs, but I know the city has had problems with abandoned cars in the past.

Did they say what made them think it was abandoned? Expired stickers or reg? Stripped interior?

Your actually supposed to repark your car ever 2-3days or so. Normally, when your car sits, they put this huge orange sticker on it, to tell you that it will be towed. Im willing to bet that they didnt do this because your neighbors probably called the cops directly to have the car removed.

the same thing happened to pete, car was parked right out front of his house. i think his tags were expired though or he didnt have plates on it. did you have that stuff? if thats all current i dont think they do anything but if its expired they'll tow, apparently.
