Paperboy. Doesn't affect with the time you would be hanging out with friends.

When I was in middle school my first job was working at a local service station doing bull **** jobs, like cleaning up and doing odds and ends around the job. I soon upgraded to just doing oil changes for some cars, and the usual stuff that needed to be done as far as routine maintnence. That job paid under the table, and for some one who was still in middle school, was not a bad job at all. I would recomned doing something like that, and thats what really got me into cars.

mow lawns and wash cars, I know thats what I did when I was your age. You can't really get a job until you can get your working papers, which I believe is at 16 years of age.

yes, those. I thought legally you can't get them until you're 16. Dude, relax like others have been saying. Enjoy HS, do good in your classes, then when you turn 16 get a job and start saving. You shouldn't really have any expenses at 14, just be a kid and have fun!
Are you a freshman or in 8th grade?

yeah man, you're wild. You don't need a job yet. Go mow lawns at $30-40 a pop and you will make way more than having a job which would be paying you minimum wage.

^This man speaks the truth. Just mow lawns or wash peoples cars, and just save money and don't blow it all away.

I started working when i was 13. I was cleaning out and restocking a lunch truck 5 days a week. It was decent money for after school work.
When i look back on it, i wish i hadnt started working until i needed to. I miss being a kid LOL. Good luck though! -Jim |

i started working when i was 14 and havent stopped since... my first job was at a food store doing the whole bag boy and getting the carts out of the lot bs... it sucked but a paycheck is a paycheck. then when i was 15 i used to go into the snowboard shop at langhorne ski shop a lot, and the manager there offered me a job cause he knew i was all about it. i also washed dishes at a restaurant in high school, that turned out to be pretty hard work but it was good money and it was hanging out with friends.
keep your option open, be persistent and motivated, and dont let any body **** on you or take advantage too much... its never too early to start working toward your first million

I was stocking shelves at a little independent pharmacy when I was 13...soon moved my way up to stock manager and was making some decent $$. So it wasn't all that bad. But hey, I look at it now, If I was bumming around till 16-17, who the hell knows what I'd be doing now. Do whatever you feel is right man.

Been workin since I was 13. Just random **** jobs all over the place.
Just, please, don't get a job in administrative. Especially ones that involve typing. Honestly, at 14, you don't need to get a job yet. Yeah, save up for your car, but research the cars you're gonna buy HEAVILY. Check reliability, check safety...check it all. Most places won't really hire you at 14, but you may get lucky. When you can drive decent, and get a beater, you can probably pick up a job at a construction company being a parts runner. It pays really well, but you gotta move and you have to know where to go and follow instructions. Being able to lift or help lift heavy objects is a must. I did that for about a year, and was making about 11-12 an hour. Not shabby at all. If you're completely serious, take a look at some mom and pop auto shops (if you're into cars) and ask the owner if he/she is willing to pay you under the table to tidy up their show/waiting rooms and general shop cleanup. If you stay around, and do your job properly and well, stay out of the techs way, there's a good chance that you might get pulled into the work to help a tech do things. From there, it's all learning, and you may end up as a tech for that shop.

drop out of school and get your ged and work at T-Mobile...16.30/hour and you sit there...and sit some more...and sit...then when you're done sitting, you answer a call and tell the person they can't have 20 email addresses on their blackberry...then you sit some more...
