i was just wondering what people are using instead of aim...i use pidgin and wanted to try somethin different...anybody have any recommendations?

Palringo is another one as well. It supports multiple services (AIM, GoogleTalk, etc). They also have a free windows mobile version, which is very nice.

Trillian. Adium is the **** if you run OS X though.

I'm really O.C.D about programs and layouts and stuff.

Therefore I <3 the new AIM...but hate that its AIM and full of ads and all sorts of ****.

Been using both Trillian and Pidgin (previously GAIM) for years now. I prefer Trillian, as it has proven to be more stable for me. Pidgin still crashes on occasion, and seems to use more system resources...

lol i was going to say the same thing, meebo rocks I use it when I'm at other places. Used to use it at work all the time at night. But athome I use the new aim its very nice and just hack out ads and life is grand

I could never understand why there are so many variations of programs that do the same thing. In some cases they interact with all programs (people using AIM, etc) so why all the hype with other programs? People say they're more stable, but I've never had a problem with AIM or iChat.
