Are you sure? Andy said the guy lives in North Carolina.... that blowbyu guy lives in Allentown. Eitherway... Thats an effed up story. Sounds like he had nothing but bad luck. Kinda lame that he slagged Verocious though. An engine build is so full of variables and all shops have difficulties from time to time.

You're right, this is blowbyu's car.

We chose to remove our original comments to keep this thread on topic.

The car is currently at another facility and to date no final power numbers are available.

i was loosely watching the thread on nasioc... and after reading that response... it sounds to me like the customer was a bit overzealous.

I started watching the thread on Nasioc but stopped cause I couldn't read anymore. Sounds like the owner spent a lot of money and became a little to anxious. There are always two sides to every story though...

well i just joined today to make a response, first time i saw this thread

i guess $20,000 11 months of having no car and 2 blown motors is being overzealous with a touch of being anxious

i would have never made a thread describing my experiences until today when Verocious posted in my thread (until now!!)...it was only describing the whole process, but i just wouldn't want anyone to go through what i have had to go through....and now its under vender review...take a look...thats the truth!!

It's not the first time I've heard of a Vendor Horror Story, But as already Stated theres two sides to every story.

Either way It doesnt help the vendor when someone writes a review like Blowbyyou did....But I agree it shouldn't take 11 months to build 2 motors.

The way I read it everytime the motor blew or broke all the parts were sent out to be inspected, this all takes time. It seems like a lot of little issues that needed to be worked out, in my opinion it seems if he had waited and not got so anxious it would have gons smoother. I am only speaking from what I have read but that's the way I take it, and who knows if it was a go as he pays thing or not or the car sat cause he needed to get money together everytime it broke, I am just speculating but who knows.

Blowby, I realize Phil has a great rep in the community...however... so does Andy on a smaller scale...and on that note... it sounds like fuzzy logic to me to see a car not making power on a dyno....then go...hey lets throw some race gas in there!! woohoo!! that'll git 'er done!!! I'm sure THAT didn't cause any issues you had...NOT... Andy definately err's on the safe side of things and has always been professional with most everyone i've known thats gone there. While i do think that the length of time it took between engines could maybe be better explained by Verocious, I think by going to a different tuner / shop you threw a whole new set of variables in there. You should also clarify that Verocious did NOT do the port work themselves. It was done at an independent location.
In the end....you are pitting two shops against each other...what makes you so sure Phil isn't skewing this so his shop looks better? Maybe because he gave you the answers you 'wanted' to hear?

dude i am done trying to prove anything to you....everyone that knows me personally and from reading my thread for the last year knows what i have been going through, just b/c you step in the last day makes you some expert

on the dyno in August, Phil was tuning and the guys from Andrewtech were watching my car on the dyno, you would think some of the best experts in the country would think something it up we would have stopped tuning...so your trying to tell me your a better tuner and know more about subaru's than these two shops....good try

How come you didn't call me a cum dumpster in this thread? I didn't step in the last day... I'm also not a moron and know better than to keep dynoing a car that has a obvious issue. Thats my only point really...is that you took a situation that was bad....and made it worse.
As for your comment about Phil and Andrewtech.... I'll leave you with this... common sense is often eluded by arrogance.

Good luck.

Since when does low dyno numbers mean that there an oil pressure issue?? That shouldn't have thrown up a red flag to check the bottom end.

It all sounds like excuses to me. Noone to blame except for the guy who handed the keys over to the customer with a used oil pump in a brand new forged motor.

And there's no need to bring up the fact that the motor wasn't 'broken in' for 1000 miles. That has nothing to do with bearing issues.

when the first motor failed it had 2,000 miles on it while on the dyno

the second motor didn't touch the dyno, it failed before that, it was checked with 900 miles because it was giving signs of low compression and it was misfiring and burning tons of oil
