lol why does every cop thing have to turn into a Free Mumia rally? One thing I hate about Temple..and the fact my walk home includes stepping on a piece of concrete with "Free Mumia" etched into it by some prick without consideration for the construction crew or people who just don't give two ****s (not saying I don't, but really, carving Free Mumia into something is like me carving "suck my penis" into a cake).

yeah man, that was a pretty stupid comment to make. Although these cops were being complete douche bags, you should always be somewhat respectful because there are always going to be times when they help us out. Also, even though it sounds like he completely invaded your privacy, its your word against like four cops' which doesn't sound too good for you. Good luck with it, and oh yeah **** mumia...he killed a cop...end of story

Actually, to take offense to anything implies a weakness in character. The whole spiel on the Mumia case is that he was innocent and a political target. Anybody with sense who looks into the case will at the very least note something is quite wrong. Policemen play the risk of getting killed in duty, just as a fireman or soldier. And fwiw, I would'nt mind the slightest if my own father got his head blown off. I'll end on a quote by Alan Watts:

-"The police have enough work to keep them busy regulating automobile traffic, preventing robberies and crimes of violence and helping lost children and little old ladies find their way home. As long as the police confine themselves to such activities they are respected friends of the public. But as soon as they begin inquiring into people's private morals, they become nothing more than armed clergymen."

thats great. argue that point to a cop next time you get pulled over. then when your in court fighting all the fines you just got, argue it in the courtroom. then, when your pissed off because they didnt get thrown out, go to the bar near the closest police district after shift change and argue it there. then, when you wake up in the hospital, try to argue it to the doctors and nurses in the ER. i could go on but i think you see my point.

bottom line is, there are cops that are dickheads. did On Sale run into one? sounds like it. i will chime in on every post where a cop is being bashed for doing his job. i started in with a joke. then you had to be the asshole and get me pissed off. stick your 93s up your ass toolbag.

I was cracking up in the beginning. The convo sounded like something straight out of Super Troopers. After the officers started yelling is where I started getting upset. I would try to fight this to the best of your abilities.

Hey... do us all a favor, and stay on topic please. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no need for personal attacks because of such.

As for the OP, I understand your frustration.. but your unnecessary comments caused you to get four tickets. Next time, keep your mouth shut and just nod. Why care if they look in your door if you don't have anything to hide?

I obviously wasnt high. i was getting my phone charger. second, they searched me and my car and found nothing. im not 16, i know what to do in this situation, i was clean, clean car and clean papers. nothing. and for them to act this way is rediculous. i can tell you right now why they acted this way. i have a few facial piercings, and had a necklace with a small charm on it. also because i was in a modified car. when i was pulled off to the side, there was no other cars there. no cars got directed in while i was there for about 20 minutes or so. i watched lines of cars just drive past as the cop waved them.

Im not gonna pursue anything, as that will only make the cops target me. it is what it is. and it happened. am i pissed? yes. was it ****ed up? yea. cops are assholes sometimes. other times they are nice.

guess i got a dickhead cop this time.

O and the reason i argued with the cop was because straight off the bat, not even knowing me or who i am accused me of such things as he did shows he has no respect for young adults. He doesnt know who i am or what i do. Yet he labeled me as a drug user and dealer and car theif. **** that. he doesnt respect me, im not going to respect him. treat people how u want to be treated. if he wants to be a smart ass and try to joke around, then il do the same. they had no right to look in my car.

If everyone let cops in when they didnt have the legal right to do so, where would that leave our constitution? Right to search and seizure without probable cause. Why should he be penalized for exercising his rights to withhold a cell phone that a police officer has no right to look at?

I would have simply said "If you think I'm high, you are within your rights to give me a sobriety test. I do not consent to any searches."

Thats all you gotta say. If he still wanted to search your car, let him. Let your lawyer do your talking.

doug i agree with keeping his mouth shut, but the cop has no right to search the car. he needs probable cause such as something in plain view or the smell of a narcotic. if i was in his situation and the cop was nice i wouldnt have a problem with them searching my car, but if the cop is going to be a prick then he doesnt get my consent. sorry, he wants to be a dick then **** him. he's not special because he has a badge. while some cops believe and act like they are above the law, they are not. him saying his partner will go thru his **** because he feels like it, is abuse of power and isnt justifiable for a search. so he is a scumbag and gives the police a bad name.

but again even tho i agree with keeping his mouth shut, as soon as he started kicking my muffler then being nice and my mouth being shut would stop. i dont take **** from a cop cause he has a badge, like i said he is no better of a person than i am. he crosses the line when he starts abusing his power and kicking my car. they wouldnt like it if i came up and kick their exhaust now would they? didnt think so. so **** that ****sucker he would have gotten an earload of **** if he kicked my car.

Man, that's shady.

I don't understand why everyone is jumping on your back for "being a dick", or saying it's what you get.

You have EVERY RIGHT not to consent to an illegal search, and I am proud you stoop up for yourself. Fight the tickets, is your car modded illegally?

Im with everyone else on this. That cop had NO right to look in your car, Sure they are allowed to use evidence seen from outside the car. But just because the door was left open does not give them a right to look through the car. Good for you on standing up for yourself. Alot of people would have just let him look and that would lead to him being on more of a power trip.

oh yeah, and on the mumia thing, **** your running man theory, it was his ****ing gun.

After reading what had happend between you and the cop, that cop was a complete ass hat. You should call your lawer and see if you can fight this. You have a legit case. He searched your car and he had no right to, which I belive he has to have a right to search it. I would ask Sarge about this, since he is a Police Officer.

i dont think some are saying he deserved what he got, but some cops have attitudes and even standing up for your rights doesnt help when they are like that...shame he didnt have a video phone to record the cop...
