So my other verizon phone got jacked...so im stuck with my old one from i think 4 or 5 years ago. Its SUCH a piece. at the moment, i am a little strapped for cash. Should i get a radar detector or get a new cell? The cell works fine...for the most part. If i should get a radar detector, what kind should i get? Any suggestions? They are illegal in NJ but not PA right?

Does the phone work, i mean so what if it's ugly. Its just a telephone. It makes phone calls.

I would get the radar. And for a radar detector I would get a Valentine-1

Yea it works...sometimes though people cant hear me. i have to either restart it or bang it on something hard lol

It depends, both are about the same amount to buy. My suggestion is a phone, but thats just my opinion

If im getting a new phone im getting an En-V i think. just a used one off of EBay. If i get a radar detector, im thinking a cobra one for like 80 bucks. I dont need a Valentine-1. 300 bucks for a detector? geez man. lol they are huge too.

Honestly Phone> Radar Detector. How often do you need a radar detector in warrington? I never use mine when im home, I can see if you are on the turnpike or someplace since only state police use radar around here. So yes I think a phone would be your best bet.

If you really want a radar detector I have a Cobra that i used for about 2 weeks like 3 years ago. I'll sell it to you cheap it ya want.

As for being in warrington, i go up to PSU main often, so i travel on the turnpike. I go to NJ over the summer a lot too. Im waiting for my financial aid check to arrive...its about 3 weeks late. Im thinking about using that for my cell phone.

get the phone. if ur getting an 80 dollar radar detector the cop will have you clocked before the brick on ur windshield ever detects it

those $80 radar detectors are a waste of money, but then again so is a $100+ phone. all it does is make phone calls/text msgs. I don't know why people have to get a phone with internet access and ****, it seems like a waste to me. that's why I have a desktop and a laptop..

Me and my $185 speeding ticket agree. I never saw the cop on the turnpike and the radar detector was plugged in. I think it's 2 yrs old. Maybe they're finally phasing out the ancient radar technology.

On a side note, go on ebay and find a relatively cheap phone if you want a new one. I had an awesome phone from ATT that they gave me for free and the stupid thing was better than my laptop. Until it fell into a puddle. Now I'm using my pos phone from 4 yrs ago. It texts and makes calls and keeps my bills down because its ancient enough to not be able to handle much else.

dead serious, its not even that old, fairly new model. picks up the electronic boards that shows your speed so i know it works but if i ever pass a trooper it doesnt make a noice... im guessing they have a new band perhaps? im gonna see if it works in jersey this summer n than maybe upgrade....
