If you are a CCW permit holder, it is legal to carry IN PENNSYLVANIA (I don't know other states CCW laws, they vary in every state). A ccw permit holder can carry any handgun, any shotgun with a barrel less than 18", and any rifle with a barrel less than 16" (and less than overall length of 26"), which includes Short barreled rifles (SBR's) and certain AOW's (any other weapons).

It's pretty cool, because under the law, I could technically carry my 9" or 10.5" AR pistols with 100round drum; not that I would, but I "could".

What are the qualifications to get a CCW permit?!? I already have a permit to carry but I dunno if it's a CCW? How do I go about finding out/upgrading my permit?

If you live in PA, a LCTF/CCW/permit to carry is all the same. It allows you to carry concealed, as well as carry in Philadelphia.

PA is actually an OPEN CARRY state, so anyone of legal age can carry a visible handgun.

Obviously, there are restrictions to where you can carry (and if you can't legally own a gun, obviously you can't carry).

Cool...all it says at the top is Pennsylvania License To Carry Firearms and then my card number.

I've had it since I turned 21...just noticed it expires in a few days LoL. Guess I gotta make a phone call tomorrow morning.
