That's the EXACT opposite of what i've seen.

http://www.leftlanenews.com/gps-syst...top-speed.html
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/22/n...speed-limiter/

Wherever you got that information is INCORRECT.

Note the uncertainty for the US Spec GTR, so what we have is where the car is actually released now. Nothing about a voided warranty, but i'm looking.

I'm not sure about the legalities of the GPS unit; and if they aren't sure, then why would it work the other way as well (even though we often think that way lol).

I'm saying..the product is NOT released, there is nothing definitive other than what we know in other markets, and I can not find a damned thing about a voided warranty there.

its so they can catch more people speeding and racing so they can get more money out of you.

And i can't imagine going that fast through japan. From pics that i have seen it looks alittle crowded

Speeding and racing on a track, where it is designed to do so? I highly doubt Nissan would develop a supercar- and put the money they did into the project- just to not allow you to do anything.

Meh, it's still just as ridiculous no matter where this is happening. Not like I'll be having ANY of them anyway, so it's all the same to me.

Well i'm going to need more proof than that; I know of someone within Nissan who's driven this thing, and he's said nothing about that.

And so many people have driven it by now..don't you think that it would have been more widely reported, especially the mainstream autoblogs (and cardomain is not one of them. mainstream= motor authority, jalopnik, etc etc)

You're probably right. I didn't even know about raising the speed limit and stuff.

But hey, if they're so unfriendly about modding the new GTR, then the whole voided warranty thing wouldn't surprise me if it turns out to be true.

It wouldn't surprise me either, but I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt right now b/c of how new the car is, ya know?

We don't know yet, other than the speed limit is raised. It could, but we don't know until they release complete US Spec details.

the GPS is accurate enough to tell you when you cross into the track itself.
