Who pays $700/month for insurance? That's insanity.

Please...I'm an auto insurance agent and I write insurance in about 40 of the 50 states. And for some people in some areas, $700 is not bad!!! Be glad you don't pay that. hahahahahahaha

It baffles me what some people pay on their car insurance. I've had 2 speeding tickets and 1 traffic violation in 8 years and full coverage on my 06 GTI is $70/month. I can't imagine having to pay $200+ a month.

Wow unless they are living well within their means and the insurance company knows they can pay that much, [and the kid is a spoiled little preppy bitch], in NJ, they would be dropped and the kid would not have a license, let alone a car.

^ Key words are "in NJ". Different states have different laws, not to mention different insurance companies have different underwriting guidelines. Not to mention this was also in another country.

Shrug, I have no accidents, no speeding tickets, same for the parents in the last 5 years, and I pay about 75 a month for my car.

Thats just stupid. But i dont get it...somebody gets clocked at 140mph, gets convicted, and the insurance is $800 a month. But thats gotta be worse than totalling a car and having a couple fender benders? The whole insurance system is bs imo. I've never had an accident, but if i had my own policy it would be $950 a month for the bare minimum insurance? Are they smoking crack.

But yeah, he sounds like a bad driver to say the least. I got 10 speeding tickets in a year too, but i was only convicted of one and it was for 10 over. Anybody who just pays the tickets isn't right in the head.

Hate to tell you, but in many states, just because you "weren't convicted" or they "were dismissed", it doesn't mean they don't show up on your driving abstract and they will still be used against you.
