doesn't fuel cut make you feel extra special?

ok i was driving to my buddy's house and i pulled up next to a blue wingless sti. it was my friend perry, he downshifts and takes off as do i (just goofin around) my tune pushed boost to 20psi. just now i spiked at about 22 (which hasnt happened since the tune.) then i hit the "brick wall" fuel cut. that disgusting feeling that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. so i slowed down to about 70 in fifth gear, got just above vaccum and punched it again. no fuel cut. so at this point im cruising in sixth at about 75, i drop into fifth again and punch it. 22psi and hit fuel cut again around 5500 rpm. no cel or anything but i'm still worried. i was told to either go external, or get the ihi's gate ported. any advice? is my car in danger? ahhhh

Get re-tuned for the winter. Cold air = 1-2 psi more boost. It seems that your tune is allowing too much boost in high gears. I would bet that if you shift 2-3-4-5, you will not hit fuel cut.

I would personally port your turbo or go external.

if you are still running the factory gate and boost solenoid the car should should not vary boost with the temp changes. thats why i went gm bcs since it controls better boost but keeps the same feature as the stock bcs. these cars just have alot more boost in 5th gear than it does on 4th and lower gears due to the gearing and load.

ian what are you tuning your car with currently? i see this alot on cobb base maps ue to different exhaust systems and such.

utec. i was tuned a few months back after i got it installed. its been running fine, except the closed to open loop transition is annoying to me. other than that boost has been very consistent. yesterday was the first time it crept like that
