Real Estate Appraisal

I am looking for someone who is in real estate appraisal and would be willing to talk to me about the proper steps to take to get into the field. I have seen alot of things online for online schools to get the hours for it but I would love to know the way that other people got there and any advice or input they might have. It seems like its the perfect fit for me and I really want to start as soon as possible on my way to a career in appraisal. If anyone knows of anyone who does this line of work, I would greatly appreciate it if you could pm me their contact info so I could get in touch with them to ask a few questions. Thanks in advance and hope to get some info from someone on here.
Eric

I am pretty sure that is how we train our in-house appraisers (we use external appraisers as well). You may have to start in another position and work your way up. We use some companies that will provide appraisal services to use, so that might be something you would be interested in.

You need to get your real estate license, and then I believe it's 2 years of selling houses and then you can move up the ladder to appraisal. Something along those lines.

Haha, well that's what my friend is doing anyway. I don't know if you need to be doing sales or not, I doubt that. But you do need your retail license and you need to keep it updated (as in do the retakes).
