you know what i hate? The way most people in this thread drive. You launch your auto car in traffic? Pass people before you're even sure if they're going to turn? Drive 20 over? Honestly believe that going the speed limit congests roads? You're all ****ing retarded. I hope you all burn in hell. Seriously, mature a little and wise up, there is no reason to launch a car on public roads ever. If everyone drove at exactly the speed limit life would work just as the civil engineers planned and the roads would be a blast to drive on. Not only that but we would have less accidents(which are what actually congest roads) due to assholes you like you driving. 20 over? are you ****ing kidding me? Unless you have a dying loved one in the back there is no need to sustain a speed of 85mph. You sound like a bunch of 16 year old kids in their mommie volvo wagon. Congrats, you fail miserably.

i dont understand what is the big deal about doing 80 on the high way? its the ****ing high way. i highly doubt that if everyone did the speed limit, the roads would be a "blast" to drive on. that is prob one of the dumbest things i have heard. accidents could also be easily avoided if the slow drivers would stay to the right and not go into the "passing" lane. cause the left lane is the "passing" lane. but again seriously, who the **** goes 55 on i-95? cops dont even go 55. 55mph should never be the speed limit on a major high way in this day and age. it should be at least 65-70mph since that is about the speed most people do drive. so if you want to drive 55mph on the high way then stay in the other lanes. dont go into the passing lane, end of story.

No T-, I don't think he knows. He probably doesn't know about the 1.2 MILLION MILES I have logged in just for work purposes, not including personal driving.... or the 7 different independent safe driving courses/test that I have been thru (Not the safe driving courses you get sentenced to for driving like an A-hole over and over again).

I might seem a bit harsh in these threads. It is because at 22 years old I used to have the same f%^# off attitude while driving. Then I damn near killed a 17 year old girl on Newtown Bypass. Fortunately, she lived. Fortunately for me, the vision of her, unconsious in her busted up Corolla is forever burned in my memory to remind me 'pay attention to the bigger picture'

Slow down and save a life or two.

That is not the smartest thing to be said either. Accidents could be avoided if slow drivers would stay out of the left lane? I would say more accidents could be avoided if people would slow down and stop thinking they are "good drivers" because they can drive 80MPH+ on the highway and weave in and out of traffic. The point is not what everyone else does but the fact that most people only think they have control of their cars.

But what if not everyone that drives 80+ weaves in and out of traffic? i personally am my own driver. i don't think i am the best driver however i have to anticipate and guess what other drivers have to do which, in my eyes, puts me in charge of how i influence how they drive/how they react to my driving.

After getting a huge-ass fine for doing nothing wrong while driving my integra last year, and after realizing how much gas (money) I waste by driving too fast, I no longer go over the speed-limit on back roads. My car gets around 50mpg by "putting" around, so it doesn't bother me a bit. I love to see all the A-holes in their gas guzzlers ride my bumper. It makes me feel happy inside to know how much money I'm saving.

I used to be terrible with passing people on backroads, going 10-20mpg over the speed limit all the time and ****, but that's over now. And I also used to own a car that got about 8mpg no matter how I drove it... Now I'm all about driving slow and actually looking at the scenery instead of racing everywhere I go for no reason.

i understand that and i dont trust other people on the road and try to distance my self from the other assholes on the road. but what im saying is if they stayed out of the passing lane most people wouldnt have to weave in and out of traffic to go around them. if im doing 80 on i-95 and i see someone coming up on my ass, i move. its common courtesy to move over.

of course!

what about in the situation that someone doing slightly over the speed limit is passing someone doing the speed limit. for example if im doing 68 and pass someone doing 65, is it ok for me to be in hte passing lane then? I am passing arent I?

I see what you are saying but at the same time the left lane is used for passing, and passing does not require everyone to go 80MPH.

Believe it or not, but you don't need to rocket past somone in order to pass them. Often a temporary 3-5 MPH increase in speed will do the trick.

Yea, that's a very slow pass if you think about it.

Have any of you been on the PA turnpike lately? Driving under 75mph you might as well put a big target on your rear bumper that reads "hit me here."

I don't drive like an asshole, I'm the average guy who cruises at 5-10mph or if I'm going through heavily populated area I'll be at the speed limit. I don't cut people off, I signal even when there's no one around, I don't even have any traffic violation/moving violation tickets.

I just wish that people would you use some basic common sense. It's not hard to drive a car safely, follow the road signs etc. It would be nice if those people driving their 80K BMW that do everything but service your sex drive for them in traffic would take into consideration that not everyone has AC and an automatic transmission. Get off the cell phone, put down the cheap chinese takeout, and drive the damn car.

You see people eating Chinese takeout on the road??? I'm all but convinced that BMW's give most of the people who drive them a complex. No turn signals, being glued to everyone's bumper, and getting mad when someone slows them down or gets in their way. Granted, I see these qualities in other drivers as well, but you are can almost be certain that you will see one of these thing occur as a BMW passes you on the road.
