I was on my way home from work one night, this was when I was still working down at Horsham RC. I had just crossed Lower State Road on Horsham, and this dick in a Jeep WJ gets right on my ass. I was even doing 5 over. I let it slide for a bit, then I flashed him the brake lights, to tell him to GTFO my bumper.

He got closer.

Now, I let this go for a bit, as I had to go through a few lights, I figured he'd turn somewhere, or go straight when I didn't. That never happened.

At this point, I just let off the gas until I was 5 under the limit, and started driving like a little old lady. He signaled to make a left into his neighborhood off of Han**** Rd., and then I guess thought better of it, and glued himself right back onto my bumper as if to follow me to my destination. At this point I just buried the pedal, shot up over a hill, and darted off into a neighborhood on the right. Looped around, came back out, and went home.

Crazy tailgating assholes.

I can't stand people who do 5 under through my favorite sections of roads at night either. NOTHING gets my blood boiling quicker than someone who drives like their car might roll over any second.

As Ludacris would say MOVE *****!

If you're being tailgated....
Get out of the left lane.

If its a one lane road, pull over.

If someone is tailgating you, that means you're going to slow. It doesn't matter if you're doing the speed limit or not. Just get out of the way and all of your problems will solved.

I tend to drive as fast as the person infront of me does. If I'm by myself, I'm right at the speed limit. I've been down to fly up on some old people doing 10 under the speed limit in the left lane, and they get the picture and remember... "hey i forgot i was suppose to pass on the left and stay to the right! thanks pearl!"

No, if someone is tailgating you then they can find their own way around my car...just don't try to do it illegally...you won't make it.

or you could end up in a divider.

you don't know the person behind you. its easier to just get out of the way instead of be a tough guy and hold your ground.

you're right, you aren't breaking the law, but i dont think it will matter if you are dead. think about it.

I drive at or near the posted limits on side streets (usually 40 in a 35, or so) unless the posted limit is absurdly slow and NOBODY drives that slow (several areas where posted is 25 but nobody goes under 45). I hate people who drive under the posted limit for a road. They really need to change the sign from "speed limit" to "drive this ****ing speed you goddamn idiot or else I will rape you with a three foot long prybar"

I'm a firm believer in safe driving classes(I've been thru 7 myself). I also believe that license testing should be a whole lot more involved. I've seen waaayyy too much crazy crap in my travels. Driving home on 2nd Street Pike in Richboro is nothing short of death defying. I see a total lack of common sense everywhere I go.

I'd venture to say 85% of drivers currently on the road are not skilled enough to safely operate a motor vehicle at ANY speed.

jesus, dont even get the idea in your head. Next thing you know we will have a **** load of wanna be race car drivers like yourself all over the place. You might be able to navigate your car at 100+ on the highway BY YOURSELF but no matter how good you think you are or how fast your car brakes you cant predict the future and wont know that somebody is about to pull out infront of you doing 65. You're a moron, nobody should be driving that fast on any road that is being used by anyone else, no matter how good you think you are. Thats the talk of a pissed off 16 y/o in a cavalier.

Ok, I am someone who is looking at this from an outside point of view. I moved up here from the DC Metro area where the beltway is pretty much practice for NASCAR. I really don’t mind people that feel the need to drive incredibly slow but just as long as it is NOT in the left lane. That is my biggest pet peeve about New Jersey. Everyone seems to migrate into the left lane as soon as they get on the road/highway and proceed to go slowly.

My personal opinion is that if you are clogging traffic in the left lane then you are a prick, plain and simple. I have to deal with this on my way to work and back everyday on 17. There is always some short bus’r who thinks the left lane is the cruising lane and not the passing lane.

For those of you who think its cool to break-check people, you are an a-hole. That has to be one of the most dangerous things you can do and I have had it done to me before with my fiancée with me. The guy was pissed off because I didn’t roll out the red carpet for him in a merge area and proceeded to speed in front of me and break check us. I swear I was half a heartbeat away from following that d-bag home and letting him know what I thought of his brake-check. Luckily I saw a cop on the side of the road and gave him the jerkoff’s plate number and said what he tried to do. Yes, I realize that tailgaiting is a dick move but just sitting in the left land is a dick move too. If you aren’t passing anyone and people are behind you then move over.

Plain & Simple: It is not your responsibility to regulate the speed on the highway. Be courteous and keep aware of cars around you. If someone wants to get by you then move out of the left lane and let them pass you.

Tailgaiting is about the stupidest god damn thing you can do! I am glad you are proud of it. You don't know what the other person has in their glovebox be it a gun or a nice big Fuc**in wrench. I drive ~50-55mph when its raining on 95. I love watching people hit the wall. Those of you from richboro know how the police station is hidden. I called the cops on this guy that was following me and lead him directly to the police station Very rewarding!

I love to play with tailgaters. Theres a few roads in South Jersey that are two lanes and the speed limit is 25. When people tail gate me there I usually slow down to about 10 mph. Its usually only for about a quarter mile but its funny when you see people flipping out behind you.

Otherwise, I too try to just go with the flow on the highways, its just easier.

Ahhh... the old left lane argument again.

If a person is in the left lane, driving at the posted speed limit...what is the problem???

Why don't you read my OP before you call me a moron....I said I drive 5-10 above, which I am sure is a majority of us. At least 4 people in the first few replies said they do the same thing; so you are calling all of us morons?

And just because I said I could navigate the car well at 100+ doesn't mean that I actually do. And in regards to the different license classes....I never said anything about that including 100+ mph driving. I should have expanded on that idea bit more.....maybe only certain people would be allowed on the highway for example. And maybe the far left lane can cruise at 80, middle lane 70, and right line 60.....so before you go calling people names maybe you should ask me to expand if you were otherwise unclear of my post.

Thanks....dragonfly

Because the left lane is the "passing lane". One the highway you see signs that say "slower vehicles, stay right".

People should have the right to go whatever speed they wish to. It is their problem if they get pulled over by the cops. If you are in the left lane and blocking traffic then all you are doing is being a d-bag. We have enough clogged roadways as is, we dont need people adding to that just because they 'feel' like being in the left lane. If you want to camp in the left lane, fine, but get over when I am behind you. I am not going to tailgate you but I expect you to be courteous as well and move over to let me pass.
