Don't work on cars. It sucks. I do it. I thought it would be so much fun, which it is, but theres a TON of bull**** to come with it. Lots of asshole customers with dumbass complaints. Chasing rattles. It's not cut and dry like working on your own cars.

why did u get fired, think back and think hard, no1 gets fired for no reason, unless times are slow, then you got laid off.

wait tables makes alot of money, but its fast paced and hours suck. dont work at lowes or home depot.

I've been working part time at a golf course on the grounds crew. Its a pretty cool job, but its not really the time they are hiring, but you can always give it a try.

As soon as you turn 18 apply at the postoffice 19 an hour to start union protected. You can never get fired unless you steal mail and you will never get laid off. I will easily clear 70k this year. once you get past your first 18 months you will make almost 23 an hour. Keep it in mind. Where else can you get paid that much to walk around.

I dunno. I really enjoy working in the automotive field.

I loved working in the shop, and I love where I work now. Guess it's all in how much you can actually deal with.

ummm, it is like a semi-union. you can't go on strike. so techincally you don't have the bargaining power of other unions. there are 4 different unions depending on what you actually do.

and you can certainly get fired for reasons other than stealing mail.

but yea, it ain't all that great of a job. it also depends on where you carry, as well. i sure as **** wouldn't want to carry mail the rest of my life.

beleive it or not, he could make $70K gross. don't forget, 6 days a week. and i know a lot of post offices are very short handed. lots of overtime to be had. granted, you are talking 12 hour days, but i could see him making close to $70K if he gets overtime every week.

anything after 8 hours in time and a half over ten is doubletime. i get 1 day a week off other than sunday and thats all overtime if you choose to work it. anything after that 8 hours is doubletime anything over 56 hours is doubletime. and stealing mail is about all you get fired for you fight a co worker they just ship you to another office. its well worth it in my opinion.

what better? Uh..a lot. Its not just sitting around talking about cars. Granted there are times when theres not much to do, but the days that are busy, like truck day. Dude omg, you might as well kill yourself lol. I've been at Advance Auto for almost 3 months, and its just, it really is stressful. Especially when you have an a-hole boss.
