Keep working...The best pictures are usually a result of Post-Processing though. Atleast until you become a pro.

I like #2 and #7 It looks like the focus was just off of the subject, probably due to the lens being set to autofocus. Otherwise just keep shooting. the more pictures you take the better you will get. Also if you want more control, try the AV mode.

Post processing can add to a picture but good pictures are proper exposure, good composition, and a good subject matter. Post processing doesn't help composition and subject it may aid exposure but nothing else. And don't forget proper focus.

^^ It's a nice pic but your friend turned all the clouds yellow :P.....I think if you darken the original pic and raised the contrast the sky would look much better and you could get the bright blue by adding a bit more saturation.

Personally i would just use selective color / neutrals. to bring out more color of the sky. Like so:
1. ![]() 2.

Well yesterday I got Lightroom 1.2 and Photoshop CS3.
After playing in Lightroom a little ... Added some color: ![]() And darkened the foreground, added a lot to the sky: ![]() Also did one of my car, for the hell of it: <edit: imageshack sucks. will post this when it regains consciousness>

top one is ok. but the one of the deer is too much.
not to sound like a dick, but spend more time taking pictures and less editing them. I want to see other pictures, not just these edited in different ways.

Listen to that advice and ignore the rest. There are too many Photoshop Photographers on here, try not to be one of them.
