have you ever played organized sports? a strong ego is usually key. He's not past his prime, how so? He just came off ACL reconstruction. However, I do agree that he should not be playing, and should be rehabbing more and come back in the middle of the season. He is definitely being selfish in that matter.

Typical Black male (not speaking for all black men, but a large majority), hopefully my children wont have to hear this BS growing up. Personally Im tired of hearing it.
After reading that retarded comment by jc889(because he actually knows every black male in the world), it jogged my memory a little. Back in 2004 when the eagles faced the atlanta falcons in the NFC championship game, the big hype days before the game was that "this is was first time in NFL history that there are two African American quarterbacks in a championship game". And i thought to myself how stupid can people be, since when did your skin color affect your abiltiy to play. So maybe there's a chance that he's right, but it shouldn't affect your abilty to play.

Mcnabb hasn't played the same since the SB, i dunno. Mcnabb hasn't been playing "right" since a few weeks before he went down last year.
Its pretty obvious that he is not as mobile right now. He needs to accept this and until he is fully healed, needs to sit out untill he is 100%.

The whole Eagles franchise has really made some bonehead moves lately.

Eh.. that was more of Stallworth's agent. He wanted him in New England. The Eagles made a very generous offer, but the agent turned it down.

You hit the nail on the head! We keep getting rid of players we should keep and keeping players we should dump. I am a die hard fan BUT it's hard staying that way because of the disappointment year after year. This year, no NFC championship...forget it. I'll be happy if we end up 8-8. I'm guessing a pretty good finish to show what next year will hold. McNabb is my man but he looks like somebody standing in quicksand right now. His ego, or any other professional starter can't take sitting down for ANY games. Add to that bringing in a fresh faced kid from college who "happens" to be a QB. That has to be sitting heavy on his shoulders for every pass he's throwing. For some that should be fuel to the fire, unfortunately for McNabb, I think it's his kryptonite.

Let's think of this logically:

1. McNabb has typically done better when he's out of the pocket - either running or scrambling to make a short/medium pass.
2. McNabb typically has accuracy issues when he is in the pocket.
3. McNabb is going to stay in the pocket to protect his knees/legs.
4. The offensive line has not been good this year, so he's getting a ton of pressure in the pocket.

This is not a winning combination. I personally would like to see a young quarterback with potential come in - someone like JP Losman. That kid can throw. I'd also like the Eagles to focus on a dependable wide receiver, and offensive/defensive lines.

The other main issue I have with the Eagles is that they seem to piece together a team year by year vs. having a franchise mentality. It takes time to build a stable roster of better-than-good players.

Remember when McNabb used to air the ball out on first down and it would be caught? I miss the old McNabb.

Remember, he's 11 months off ACL rebuild. He shouldn't even be playing, I think he needs more rehab time. He can't scramble, he can't run, he can't plant his back leg and throw correctly. Feeley or Kolb should be in these first few games. They say the second year is the breakout year off of ACL surgery like he had.
I don't really know why you said that. This thread was started because of the interview and him blaming undo pressure on that fact that he is black. Not the fact that he isn't playing well at all. The fact that he isn't playing well right now is due mostly to the ACL surgery, but like you and many other people have said, he should be sitting. Kolb is a great qb, and i feel, in the future, will do amazing things for the eagles. But its not that time yet. However, he should be getting some snaps since mcnabb is not ready to be on the field yet.

I love mcnabb, always have, but that is just ridiculous. A very large percentage of the nfl is black. So should kevin curtis feel all this pressure because theres alot of black receivers? No, they all play the game, thats that. No maybe if he was playing hockey then the comment would have been acceptable haha.

we dont critisize you because your black, we critisize you because you cant throw the ball to curtis who is wide open by like 10 yards and he is only 5 yards from you. THE KEVIN KOLB ERA HAS BEGUN!
