I can see where people could think he might fall off in sales because of that, but 50 is still 50 and has brought more drama into the "rap game". Drama albums/songs are PROVEN to make sales more then just a normal rap album, hands down. So either way i think if 50 wanted to make more, or ever thought one of his albums fell flat on there face after releasing he could easily pick some "beef" with someone, make a few killer tracks and boom there he is again sitting platinum because people will buy it. Just like at the beginning of 50's career with the Murder inc beef and , rat face killer himself, ja rule. (sidenote: look how he just picked "beef" with camron right before the upcoming release of B.C)

On to kanye....
Well i dont think ive heard all of the new album but im still not impressed with "stronger". 2nd if kanye's album sale ever drop off its not like he could pick "beef" to make **** sell lie 50, i mean really whos going to take him seriously? he raps about his jaw being wired on atleast one song a cd. ITS OLD. OK yes 50 may talk about the 9 shots he took and lived after but still kanye wasnt shot lol he was in a accident. Thats not "gangsta" lol. oh well...

Truthfully ive always thought what little wayne says about how to be successfull is by keeping your songs personal was right, but looking back people have to change topics if they plan on keeping personal topics to help them become more and more successfull.
+1
50 cent is a frikken huslter and a buisness man I have to give him that.
--
Yeah rappers should talk about things they want to do but never have and never will do..then they will sell more records.

Eh, I agree that Kanye and 50 are pretty much Pop. How can you be 'hard' and work with Justin Timberlake. Is 50 now a Mickey Mouse Gangsta?

Just like rock and everything else, you will always see the pop aspect of hip-hop everywhere and have to dig deep to find the good stuff. I have migrated away from it because I cant stand to listen to another track about "look how many bitches I got and look how much money I got" who the F*** cares? You are going to waste it anyway and be in back alleys giving BJ's for crack money in about 2 years anyway.

I have always like the guys who mix it up and do something different. That is why I loved Kanye's first album and am a big fan of Common. I liked Public Enemy back in the day and still rock their song w/ Anthrax. Hell, I probably have ICE-T's Body-Count stuff lying around somewhere.

hahahaha body count i got to find that one. i would have to agree with the justin timberlake coment! but i am looking for something fresh new kind of sound. 50 doesn't give me that! everything he comes out with all sounds just like the club song. and everything is "go go go shorty" sick of it, maybe if he opened his mouth when he rapped he might sound better. the only song i fast forward on kanye's cd is that drunk hot girls that one is something he should of left off! but considering i don't like 1 song on the cd is a good thing. i don't buy much hip hop/ rap/ r and b music anymore. pretty much i don't buy music at all. but when a good cd like kanye's comes out i will go and but it. its just different it gives me that old school sound. thats why when i work on my car or anything i am always jamming aol radio ol' skool station because that was real hip hop. i just hope my brother learns from the past hip hoppers and when he drops his cd it has real meaning and sound to it

Kanye is much better lyrically.

I hate 50 cent. He is a hustler and makes his money in tons of differenet ways, and I respect him for that, but I hate his music.

By the way, NAS is the best rapper alive, not that *** Jay Z

They both put out club hits now a days. Kayne has always been pop really, and 50 kinda got soft once he realized that the money was in the mainstream rap, not gangsta rap or anything hard like that. One of 50 best songs is "Many Men" it isn't that well known (I think) but it just speaks who he is (or was for that matter). He realized that money is in stuff that everyone can listen to, not just those who can relate to what he is speakin about. No matter what I will listen to his songs as long as I like them, and the same goes for Kayne. Personally 50 is at the end of his peak I think and people like Wayne and TI are the new wave even though they have been around for a long time too. When its all said and done, 50 changed the rap game in his own way, but he just got soft (in his lyrics) as his career went on. I mean if you knew you could make millions more just by rapping about a "Candy Shop" (or an "Amusement Park"--practically the same song) as apposed to talking about selling drugs, wouldn't you do it?

NAS is awesome, but to be honest, i think his time came and gone with the Hova feud.

For the most part rap just sucks in this generation. If Kanye West is really making music with good bass lines and real lyrics good for him!

Rappers Need to start making up real lyrics and not just ones about raping women and other crap filled with meaningless profanity.

i can't believe people are talking about both 50 Cent and Kanye like they're epic recording artists and lyrical masters and blah blah blah.. niether of them have any vocal talent whatsoever. they're both radio pop-rap, that's it.. and all you hear on the radio anymore is a whole lot of babbling about superficial garbage, layed over top of a completely unoriginal boring track.

while they're still not as bad as some things on the radio (at least their writers come up with somewhat meaningful sounding lyrics), it's modern radio bull**** like these two, along with the other trash like whoever it is that walks it out next to the guy who's pop-lock-and dropping it while crusing on 28" rims that's helping to kill america. i swear if i see one more freakin long white T shirt on a skinny white kid from suburbia... i mean come on, it's getting ridiculous.

i thought when i clicked on this thread i was actually going to see people discussing hip hop... 50 cent and kanye west are not hip hop, they're pop rap. that's it.

to be completely honest with you, almost everything. i couldn't tell you a certain genre, there's too many. mostly rock, in every possible variation. within the last year or so though i've started to get into more of the lighter hip hop thing like citizen cope, atmosphere, etc. i'm actually not even that hardcore about it, it's just that the other **** like i described is so sickening, and it's strange how some people label that hip hop. i dunno, maybe i'm just not 'hood' enough.

So you don't like Weezy? Why not..I admit..i'm not from any hood, but the different rhymes and little bits of genius he puts in his lyrics- combined with that drawl- I find it hard not to love his style. I mean..sometimes its deep...sometimes it's not.

btw, on my iPod I have Beethoven, Judas Priest, Weezy, Biggy, Cream, the Allman Brothers, and Andrea Bocelli. So I can feel the "listen to everything" bit!
