For the most part.... "HD" music is basically audio only dvds. Using the "True Dolby" standard, they feature up to 8 channels of audio, 100% lossless, 24bit/96khz. Theres lots already available if you look for it thats out on "Dolby Digital Plus" encoded discs.

'HD" audio DVDs have been around for awhile. Listening to them in 7.1 is actually quite amazing. But its like every new medium of audio thats been tried and it didnt really take off. With Ipods and P2P music sharing, people would rather normal quality music thats easy to listen to and access then HD quality audio. Is that HD radio taking off? I figured it would get lost in the whole sat.radio movment. Which reminds me I wanna get my Siruis reinstalled into the SRT. I miss listening to Stern in the morning.

Yep...totally agree with this... Any day of the week..the average music listener will choose convenience over quality... I mean hell, theres tons of people that still rip mp3s at less than 320.... which to me sounds like listening to music underwater because it ruins the high end.
