There's always corruption or mayhem within big companies. Especially when there's more than 1 location.

Suck it up, cause there's a chance that it may be that you'll get something worse.

I could tell you LOADS about my company, but I'm not complaining because there's no way in hell I could get better without moving out of the state.

He has a thought process to paper/forum issue. It's not punctuated and it's badly phrased. He knows what he means, and if you read most of his threads, you'll understand it better and better. Everyone's got a quirk.

bumpity bump. Alright so here we are few weeks later and I'm still here. however they are in the middle of changing the property managers, so I basically answer to two people with totally different views on how things should go. What fun this is. I talked to the boss that is my friends mom and asked her what am I doing. She wants for me to come back to Northeast Philly and work for her cause she knows how well of a good worker I am. If I was to be put back in the Northeast I'd be fine. Its closer and atleast what goes on there is straight forward. That might not happen to about September. In the mean time I'm still looking for a new job. Still no luck yet. Well if anyone knows of anyoone looking for some kind of help that is not advertised let me know. Thanks

Find something you are good at and start up your own business. Been fixing pcs since i was 14, started at 20 an hour because i was young. Now im pulling 70 an hour 20 hours a week. 5 g's a month part time FTW. After taxes making 60k just out of high school pretty much...it was crazy. I was driving a 30k car when i was 17. Never worked a job like people on here are saying.

Now i know thats not a ton of money and im not trying to brag or anything, but i only work 20 hrs a week tops, and i do a lot of online **** anyway so pretty much i am making 90k a year, minus taxes which sucks ass currently. Seriously though, you have to be good at something...don't be afraid to start up your own little thing. I never thought i would be doing this, but if you start something that ends up being a hit, you are in good hands my friend...Just undercut everyone else. Most people are charging 115+ an hour, im charging 70. Guess who gets the business?

That's around what my dad makes. Maybe a little less.

And he definitely hates his job.

Yea, thats awesome dude I wanted to do it but I never got around to it. A friend of mine and I have been working on tryin to maybe put some **** together. As for being good at something, I'd say I'm decent with comps myself. I do websites and stuff here and there. My creative aspect isnt the highest but I'm pretty good at installing troubleshooting webproducts andd stuff. I do the work on this website actually. I would love to be my own boss and I have been working on a few things just hasnt gotten to the money point yet. I just would like to have less hassle and be comfortable and make ok money for now until I can get something on my own. Again congrats on that **** man, thats awesome

Well it looks like patience and a little stepping it up on my part actually went somewhere. It seems my efforts weren't un-noticed. Yesterday I had a meeting with the new boss and the Director of Operations. In the next 30 days I am being tested on how I would run the property which they know I have really already been doing. After 30 days and everything is well, which it will be, I will be given a promotion to Assistant Property Manager of Academia Suites(the apartments I work at). I will then be puttin in a higher bonus structure and I will be given a raise. The raise is still to be determined but I am researching the rates to see where I should be at. Just thought I'd post this to prove patience actually goes a little ways.

But an education is still valuable, it does open doors to you that otherwise would be slammed shut or would take twice as long to work up the ladder too. I went to a community college for two years and then to Temple, while working full time. When I graduated I went from working at Best Buy making $10 an hour to working for a marketing company making $20 at an entry level position.

I personally am not a fan of the work I do, I hate sitting at a desk all day. However, because of my education I was accepted into a university I would never have been accepted to out of high school. I am now in the process of getting everything together to work towards my certification as a commercial pilot. When all is said and done I may be over 70k in debt. However, the upside is I will not be sitting at a desk and will have the worlds best window office, plus the potential to work my way up to jobs that make over 250k. But, the money is not what is driving me, it is something I have always wanted to do and now I have the opportunity and I am taking it.

Basically what I am saying is an education can be valuable if you know what you want and have the determination to see it through.
I'm going to agree here. It seems most people here opted not to go to school. Thats fine and there is nothing wrong with that at all. However, having an education and that "piece of paper" will definitely help depending on what you want to do. Having a degree will open up so many doors that would not be open otherwise. I know plenty of people that thought they didnt need a degree and would be fine without one, then later on in life after they have been at their job for a long time, they get passed up on a promotion which is given to a younger person who has only been there for a short period of time, only because that person was a college graduate. If what you want to do requires no degree at all you might get into the job, but there are still other things that need to be thought about.

Werd!!!

I'm 19 and hate my office job currently I have 2 jobs:

One at Acme doing anything customer service related at 9.00 an hour with about 20 avg hours a week.
The Second at Mannington Mills making 11.00 dollars an hour making computer based training programs at about 55 hours a week.

I think I've just about had it with both but the income is kinda good but I think I'm getting shafted. I have a certificate in Information Technology, and would have gotten one in Automotive Technology if I would have taken 2 more classes but I didn't because I graduated. *sigh* I need an I.T. job that doesn't require a 300 dollar certification.
