AMP not turning on??

Was fixing a loose ground on the amp today, and accidentally touched my power cable, there was a small spark, and now nothing works. Already replaced the 80A fuse near the battery for the wire, as well as the 40A fuse in the amp itself, and still nothing. I even tried to touch the ground to the power again, and nothing is happening, no sparks nothing. Any suggestions?

Call me crazy but you may have blown the amp.

You tried it again? I would say the power supply needs replaced or the amp is toast. Check your remote wire and make sure you have a good bare metal ground.

It worked before this happened, now its just not doing anything . We have it grounded well, but I dont know what the problem is

Also, what is a power supply?

Most amps have an internal MOSFET power supply.

I was told to take the amp so a stereo shop so they can test it, and if it works, to just run a new power cable should fix the problem. sound legit?

You more then likely fired the amp. We're the fuses blown that you replaced? If not then the internal circuits of the amp probably took the shock. Try taking it to a shop and see what happens. Shorting to ground is really bad.

Umm thats a terrible idea. If its something in your car then it could blow your friends too.

turns out that when i pulled the ground wire to shave off some of it, i loosened the screw that held it to the chassis, and it wasnt getting enough contact to make a ground. all is well, thanks for input
