Same deal as the vortex generators on Evo MR's I'm pretty sure. And that's "functional," but I don't think you'll notice it much. The Mitsu generators look so much better though.

BUT! The diffuser's on the back of the new STi's are really cool, and I will get one for my car if it'll fit.

ahhh, difusser is the word.

Well, regardless of what the car actually looks like, props to Subaru for delivering on all the images that had only been rumors. The tail lights, spoilers, diffuser, and pretty much everything in between made it into production. I wouldn't be surprised if it actually had the 8k redline as well.

i wasn't really 'around' in the subaru family then, but i wonder what the first reaction was to the 04 wrx/STi... the very first impression of it as compared to the bugeye's, which was all anyoen would have been used to at that point... i wonder if anyone would be looking back on this in a similar way? if it's just one of those 'growing pain' kind of things and it will just become standard someday soon? i can't see it happeneing, personally, and i think this new body style may have just up'd the value of my bugeye!

I like the taillights. The problem is, you need to modify them in order to really appreciate them. I can envision a tinted section instead of clear, like Criz did. Then it would look hot. Or bake them and paint the inside black like the MR's...

And if I had a sedan, it would be getting the roof spoiler. I <3 it.

i think if we all want to get rich we should start manufacturing hoods/grills/front bumpers to delete that nasty front end. we could make millions...
