before you do ANYTHING, find out why it has a reconstructed title. you might not want it after you find out the history. I'm guessing since it's an 05 that it's a flood car

honestly you can drive any car in the snow/ice you just have to be more careful depending on the car. but that's just my opinion..

however, i would agree that it's not the best idea. you'll want to get a beater for the bad weather, especially since we get pretty harsh winters sometimes.

r titles are usually either flood cars, totaled or stolen. i would never buy an R title, cause if you go to sell it down the road, the value will be ****.

and also i dont think you should go from a d series to rwd.

i say keep the civic for a dd and buy a 1st gen.

+1....if your car is reliable and clean (title-wise), save for a downpayment on something nicer and have two cars

I have NO complaints about my car at all. Looks good, drives good, and has lost minimal value. I paid 6500 a year ago now its private party value is 6335 lol. im going to try to find out whats up with the title on the s2k but my bro has to get back from his month vacation first

heres the real question you should be asking yourself

Do you really want a S2000 or do you just want a new car and will take the first one that comes along? I mean you can take the s2k and then not like it, realizing you just put yourself 20k in debt.

i think your just bored with your car now and want a new one, but really dont know what to do

If he gets an s2k then all I'm waiting for is the post where he screws up a downshift from 5 and winds up in 2nd and bends a few valves.

Like mine haha, 8 broken retainers and 4 bent valves. I fixed it myself so it only cost me like 400 bucks.

$20 says he's like the kid at the Keenan dealership who spun the brand new S2000 into a brand new 06 Accord.

...in a parking lot.

i think you will be an idiot if you pass this up. if you can do it then do it. but your brother sucks basically. ok going from an auto altima to a stock s2000 isnt anything. i went from an auto zx2 to a tc to a 240sx that was light and fast as hell. basically a 17 and 15 sec fwd car to a mid to low 13 sec rwd car. and i didnt have any probs learning it. i did take it easy at first in the rain and snow, but i knew what i was doing. ask pete. i dont think he knew what he was doing in his awd ahahaha.

off topic: this thread is kind of amusing. there's a lot of stupid in here. cleanneon, i'm getting this strange feeling that everyone wants you to stop posting dumb threads.. don't know where i'm getting that though, just a hunch i guess

You may get it changed to a normal title but the R title will still show up in history with a carfax report. If I was buying a car and saw it is or was a R title, I would run away.

His civic is already a standard, don't see how the s2k will be different.

Anyways, I wouldn't do it. Save the 10k, either as a down payement on a new car or for car payments or something. New cars without R titles are better then a cool old car with an R title.

If he doesnt crash the car I can the threads of which ebay parts to throw on it. The S2000 isnt a Civic. Its a car that will bite you hard if you dont know what your doing. Its not a daily driver that you can use 12 months outta the year like you can the Civic. Like its been said here, how do you suddenly have the money for an S2000 when we've done nothing but heard you whining of not having money to mod your Civic?

Well technically people can and have driven the S2000 12 months out of the year and in blizzard conditions, just not him. I took it out a few times when it was snowing for sh*ts and giggles

And how was it? I just cant see it being alot of fun. Light weight RWD + Snow/Ice doesnt equal a good time for me. I can see the "Took the S2K out in the snow, where to get a ebay front end?" thread now from him.
