I herd its going for a suprisingly low price of $600

I personally think it isnt worth it until my contract runs out ontop of that ATT
offers some ****ty minute plans IMO
I dont even think it comes with a camera built in either

I wouldn't really trust it. Friend of mine works for cingular, and is like obsessed with phones. He said (this is just what he said, I dont really know) that the IPhones are gonna have a lot of issues with the fact that its basically running an operating system on a very tiny hard drive, and that there is gonna be a lot of issues with freezing, very slow running phones, etc etc. Just what I heard though?

The mobile version of OS X or whatever it is the iPhone runs takes up 700MB of the device's capacity. Damn son!
There's no way to cut, copy, or paste text! WHOA! Big, big mistake.
Apple sez between 300-400 charges the iPhone will lose battery capacity -- you'll send it in and get the cell replaced for a fee.

Thats enough for me to want nothing to do with this POS

The phone has been getting good reviews, and I do think it's worth the money, if you keep in mind what an Ipod costs and what your average smartphone costs. I mean I paid 400 for my Treo when I got it at the begining of last year. But I got a Blackjack instead of an Iphone. The only reasons being I had a Treo so I needed a break from the brick in my pocket and also I think in a year the iphone will come with more storage and all of the fun apps that are being developed now will actually be done then.

For all those who want to get the iphone, what can it do that other phones cant. The cingular 8125 has been out a LONG time, is cheap, and is very close in features.

well besides the multi touch screen (the ability to touch multiple spots and activate move multiple thing), and amount of memory, and the osX, and itunes support, and the widescreen, the wifi (not exclusive but really limited...esp if you att like me), there's nothing really overly special about it.

Amount of memory: I dont know how big you can get SD cards now, but I know you can get at least a 8 gig card.

the osX: Its different, who says its better? (I really don't want to get into a MAC vs windows debate)

itunes support: Who cares, you can download mp3s anywhere

widescreen: nothing new. I don't know specs, but there are phones with near the same size screen if not the same size

wifi: many phones have it.

Its too early to tell what the iPhone can and will be able to do and how well it will perform. I think this is what anyone should be saying.

As someone who travels a bit, I can tell you I'm sick of taking my laptop with me because its too freaking big and need and extra bag just to bring it. On long flights I would love to be able to watch movies and listen to music, and while at the airport check email and the internet over wifi on an all in one small portable device. It would be great have something that has all the features of the iPhone, however there is nothing else that does.

Come Christmas, if the iPhone does live up to the hype. I'll think about asking Santa for one.

I also wonder how many people who are quick to judge the iPhone were the first ones to get a Razor because they thought they were ballin'.

Well I have a windows based phone, and just got rid of a palm based phone, so I am inclined to say it's better, but you're right it is an opinion. The size of the screen is something like 5" x 3" if you drive an evo your not that fat that you can't fit two fingers on that lol. If you already have Itunes (like a couple million people do) being able to send those songs to your phone is a huge plus, that's regardless of wether you like the service or not. As for WIFI, right now I think ATT has two phones that offer it, not including the iphone. I mean if you really look into it half the hype is that it's an ipod, the other half is that it's an OSX smartphone with an innovative screen. The 8525 and the Treo 750 are both selling for 399, after the att incentives, and the iphone is selling for 100 more. So 100 more for itunes support and a better touch screen isn't that much different then spending 100 more for a TV with picture in picture. If it weren't for the hype sorrounding it the Iphone would be just a cell phone that's slighty more exspensive then the other smartphones.
