My Dad has a WS6 Daily Driver with 115k on the clock that put down 320h.p. and 345 t.q. without a throwout bearing! The car is stock as a rock with paper filter. Harris did the tranny swap after he wased the trans from lack of bearing. Rick I think you saw it. It was a Silver.

listen....no one cares if you have something constructive to say..your entitled to your opinion. if you dont like it and express your feelings like a normal human being than thats all good....but when you say crap like "it sucks, just like all domestics" thats when it hits the fan cause its not even about the import vs domestic thing. comprende??

hey now, somebody gets it...!
there are plenty of people here who are capable of having a mature discussion about what they like and dont like and giving solid reasons why. they don't get all worked up and don't resort to personally insulting other members or their cars, or making ignorant generalizations about a group. if you're capable of acting like an adult then please contribute, if not then you're willingly and knowingly going against the rules that have been established for a looooong time and exist purely to keep the quality of the forum up. the rules are the rules and they don't change... i'm not deciding who does and doesnt get warned, i'm just carrying out the rules as they stand. if you have any questions, concerns, or problems with any of this, PM me... dont post it in a thread where it doesn't belong.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

now... i hope this is the last comment that doesnt have to do with evos and/or v8s and or handling or weight, etc. i'm actually curious as to the weight of an LS1 because i admit that in my head i picture these domestic 8 cylinders as being bulky and heavy even though i know they are now aluminum blocks and a lot lighter than they once were.

i'm trying to leave at least some semblance of the discussion here but am removing the majority of the crap in the thread... now lets please stop cluttering the thread.

The LS1 is fairly light for what it is, no?

From what i've read, the 4G63 is 320lbs, and the Ls1 is 380/90 lbs..meaning you get double for much less than double the weight of the 4.

haha hell yeah. I bet if they threw some leaf springs, a 4" skyjacker lift, and some 33" super swampers they would be able to drag a sled.

Is that fully dressed with the turbo and all??? (4g63)
i seem to remember reading where Ls1's fully dressed are close to 400...you may be right on the 380-90 or so.

Didn't see if its fully dressed, I merely googled and went to a few spots. Anyone else have anymore details? if that's close like that, then, well, the weight is a moot point, well, relatively (how its placed is a big factor too).

I was guessing 400lbs for the LS1. But 380 to 390lbs is not bad.

Tell ya what, I’d like to see the finished product with the All-Wheel-Drive system. Hopefully they make another video.

O.K. By the textbook term of “unique,” I guess it would qualify. However, I’m not sure what the purpose would be. Keep in mind you now have more overhang weight due to the size of the engine.

Here’s another example: Would anyone swap out the flat 6 from a 911 Turbo and put in a V8? I suppose it’s possible. Would it be “unique,” I suppose it certainly would. However, I’d be lost on the purpose.
its been done in the crazy Island of purto rico, and the car was fast.
