do any of you have a job you just can't take? and...take the new offer?

I'm sitting here in front of Access and going down a list updating a call centers employee "stats". The other part of my job is generally ctrl + c and ctrl + v

Running crystal reports.... ctrl + c..click on excel spread sheet... ctrl + v

I'm going nuts...I been here since December, started as a temp, hired f/t in February...can't apply for another position within the company till august...or february...conflicting reports

I can't take it, I'm antsy, I can't concentrate on my work its so boring. I'm gonna wig out man

I like the money my job brings in... but some of the people i work with are ridiculous. Last night, we had a full restaurant and our bartender decided she was "too sick" to work so she walked out. worse part, she's a step down from a manager

Whenever I had a job like that I would occupy myself trying to automate the procedure. I had a lot of fun writing programs that would do my work for me.

dude get a 5 button mouse and just use the mouse buttons for the ctrl+c and ctrl+v ;) why over complicate it by using a keyboard?

the problem is the lack of my knowledge in VBA and that Crystal Reports doesn't send the reports to excel in such a manner that could be easily moved to the proper spreadsheet.

I've got a second interview tonight...I was offered a job yesterday, but then he called and offered me another job within the company so I go in tonight to discuss that.. I'm outta here like yesterday day...

If I take the entry level job I'd be standing at booths and such setting up appointments and getting paid based off of those.

However, the job he wants me back to talk about involves business to business sales, most likely booth locations and such as well as having a hand in recruitement of employees. Which is definatly a more impressive position

He called me about an hour after the interview to request me back for that position, but offered me the first one on the spot. Gotta think about it though... see what the offer is, got my fingers crossed its a good one

I cant stand most aspects of my job. Basically, I troubleshoot calls for wireless internet access we have at a TON of locations. We are mostly outsourced, and there are about 20 different retailers that we use. So, I have to remember passwords for those locations, and the different equip, and various troubleshooting steps.

On top of that, most of the people that use this stuff either A. Dont speak english, or B. Are computer stupid. I dont mind either way, but people to attempt to use either as an excuse to me nasty towards me, its just annoying. I had one person complain that I didnt speak their language (French), because he was from Canada.

Other then that, its not too bad really. Money could be better, thats about it

if the money here was better I'd just deal with it till my time was up and I could move to a different position...but the money sucks.

I took the job cause I was new to the area and needed one asap

Ive been detailing professionally for about 6 years now. I hate it. I hate my boss and with a few exceptions, I hate everyone I work with. Problem is, I love doing what I do. Ive tried to detail at other places but most cant offer me the same things that I can get here. For example, I work a 40hr week if that. I bring home 65+ hours because of peice work. I seriously would love to try something new at this point as long as my finances stay secured like they are now. Or would like to possibly run a shop.

start a shop, being your own boss is the way to go. I'm slowly working on getting a web development business going. Don't have the time to invest in my own website let alone others...

On the spot detailing would be the way to go if you can't pull together the finances to rent a garage.

finding a garage is the easy part. finding customers and competent workers is the hard part. Private detailing shops bring in very expensive cars and you cant just have little bobby who just left school on co-op come and work on it. I like not being my boss only because problems are on him and not me.

getting expensive cars is easy... charge a ridiculous price, tell them you come to them and either work on the car there or you pick up the car and take it to your garage for the work and return the car when its finished.

Leave business cards with a short note on the back telling them you noticed their beautiful and expensive car is dirty, or has a smudge somewhere and that you'd take care of it personally.

Screw hiring others till you need to.

I'm a good thinker

You just gotta know how to get at a persons specific needs. Someone owns a 60k car they want it clean, they probably obsess over it being clean. And if they don't they're one of those rich people that just doesn't give a **** anyway.

Tell someone with a $70,000 car they have a smudge or their clear coat is scratched and see how they react...

I love my new job, only be on for 8 days though lol.

I used to wear a shirt and tie, sit around and make sure everyone was doing their work and then just chill...and get paid 10.00 for it. Supervisor my ass.

Now I wake up at 6, go in at 7. Do intense physical labor in the hot sun for 8-12 hours and get paid 10 (no taxes) dollars for it. I LOVE IT! I come home a mess and tired but know that I put in a good days work.
