Army recruiters?

What is their deal, it took me 6 months after high school to get the marines to stop calling me b/c i wasn't interested, but i go outside for 5 minutes to fix a plug wire on my car and one pulls up next to me to ask if i want to be a mechanic in the army....i thought apt complex's were no soliciting facilities, if i wanted to join, i would come to them, they don't have to come to me

The recruiter is just doing his job.

If you don't want calls, ask to be put on the DNC list. If you don't want them talking to you, be polite and firm.

Man, the Army recruiter came to my house, my work, my classes, and time and time again I told her I wasnt interested. In the end I told her I had signed with the AF, and she left me alone. I hadnt officially signed at the time, but that was my plan, still working around whether or not I'm still gonna do it.

as bad as they are to you the army is ten times worse on them, and with the large numbers of folks leaving service after deployment you really cant expect any different. take a deep breath, relax, explain to the guy that you really dont wish to serve and thank whatever diety you believe in that america doesnt practice conscription.

Just say to call back later, your boyfriend Skylar just got here because Monday's are meat night for dinner, and you have to 'prepare' the food. I bet you he doesn't call you back.

Here is what I posted on a different site not too long ago...

Quote:
Marine Recruiters at The Movies???

I was walking in to the movie theater last night, when I was approached by Lt. Ricks or something (I don't remember exactly). I shook his hand and he started talking to me about my life, and where I was going, if I was happy with it, etc. etc. etc. I told him that I was happy with the way things were going and that I enjoyed my job. He asked my career, I answered, and he said, "Oh, I just happen to be an electrician in the Marines." He wouldn't stop telling me that I should do something else with my life and join the Marines. I'm all for the gov't trying to recruit, but has it really come down to these horrible tactics? I mean, I was standing there with my girlfriend and he wouldn't stop telling me to join. It basically came down to me, TRYING not to be rude, and I said thanks for your service as I was walking away, and he was practically screaming at me to join the Marines (from a good 30feet away).
It was odd. And also, a lot of the members on the other site (who are currently enlisted) posted to just tell him that I'm gay, or something about a boyfriend (as stated above). If that gets them to stop screaming at me, sounds like a plan!

Just say:

"Listen, I told the last guy who called that I have asthma and use my inhaler often!"

Problem solved.

That is weird, I had thought heavily about joining the marine corps, however when my birthday came (hahahaha too late edit), he called me once and when I was like, I am sorry, I am going to school first. He never called again. However he still text's me every few months to say hi and see how I am doing.
