I forget, there is a way to do it.. I think you have to download something to do it. I know I'm no help with that, but I know there is some thing you can do to do it.

make sure ur PC is reading the Ipod.. open ur Itunes.. and ur Ipod should show up Under Devices.. (the name of ur Ipod) with a lil ipod Icon.. since u got a new PC ur Ipod dosent recognive it as "its" PC so it wont automatically sync.. or do it like that.. my brother comes home from school and he connects it and goes thru my playlist.. and drags the songs over to his IPOD icon in the devices and it adds the songs that way.. it might be a pain but it works for him.. id give it a try.. and always keep ur ipod charged almost full.. bc the first one i had i didnt and it croaked on me within a year.. just a lil FYI.. if u have ne other problems let me kno.. im pretty good with this ipod stuff
Edit.. oh and make sure ur itunes and ipod are up to day with software

And with keeping the battery always full.. no.. no.. don't do that. Don't keep it on the charger all the time, that will wear the battery out. Full charge it, and ALWAYS let it deplete itself, and then charge it up again.. let it cycle, you'll get much more of a lifespan out of it by doing that. My ipod is about 3 years old now and still runs as good as the day it came out of the box. -knocks on wood- haha. |

screw sync'in...manually do it, much better. By manually updating, you eliminate the one ipod-one computer relationship. http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/art...nchronization/ This site has a lot of interesting articles, but you should definitely read this one.
"Another advantage of Manual mode is that songs can be added to (and listened to off of) the iPod from any computer. Manual updating does not exclusively tie the iPod to any one computer, as does “Automatic” and “Selected Playlists Only.” There is one crucial limitation that accompanies Manual Modes to keep separate collections on the computer and the iPod, and this is that ratings & playcounts do not synchronize from the iPod back to the computer. For those who frequently listen to the iPod and use Smart Playlists often, this is a significant bummer. If you like the additional control, the ability to delete your original music, and the ability to load the iPod from multiple computers, but don’t mind your ratings & playcounts being out of sync, then Manual mode may be for you. " That article explains how to change to manual update. I highly recommend it. |

yeah doug.. ur right about the charging... i didnt mean to have it fully charged ALL the time.. i meant dont let it die all the time.. ive had mine about as long as you... and your ipod can be read from computer to computer.. all u have to do is manually drag songs over the icon in Devices... i let people do it on my computer and have done it to 3 or 4 other computers.. i dont know what he needs to do to change his IPOD PC to his new one.. but to get those new songs on his ipod he can do it the way i explained.. but ur right it wont solve his problem.
EDIT: sorry i didnt read Captains post.. but thats what i meant.. ahah he explained it better
