Mac help?

Not that I really need help but more of an opinion. I want to run windows on my mac and I was wondering anyone's opinions on using parallels or boot camp. I will be using the ROSS tech vag com scanner program and Autocad are my only 2 reasons for running windows. Any opinions or experience using these programs?

I prefer Parallels to Bootcamp, since Parallels allows you to start and stop Windows without restarting the computer. At least 2GB of RAM would be suggested as well.

Not really crazy about running vista. I'd settle with running XP. I just want it to be able to run autocad and the ross tech program. I am reading that using parallels has problems using USB connections while in windows.

installing windows on mac is like owning a mercedes and putting in a DSM motor. You own one of the most sought after type of computers now a days why ask for all the problems that windows (the dsm of os's) gives you? lol

Because you realized that your Mercedes looks nice, rides nice, and is pretty problem free. But it's not as fun as your DSM and you cannot get anything productive done on it. You cannot play games with it because its a mercedes, but your DSM was quite capable of the same games. Your DSM also ran great until you decided that it wasn't good enough how it came from the factory. Then you had to start upgrading can comprimising its stability.

most sought after?

by who? the 2% of computer users that fall into the following categories:

idiots(macs and ipods ARE marketed at idiots.. "hey dont think for yourself. our stuff just works. but since it really doesnt always just work, you can let us fix it for $60 an hour when it breaks! come on, we know you can afford it.. you already threw $300 or more out the window when you chose a mac over a pc anyway!)

people who dont work, and care more about slideshows than having money. note that the windows guy has a job, and he can play GAMES on his computer. games are more fun than slideshows.(which windows can also obviously create)

the eternally black t-shirted

**** and metrosexuals. not that theres anything wrong with being gay. i'm just pointing out the demographics. as for metrosexuals.. come on just pick one or the other and run with it already.

volkswagen owners (this of course overlaps the aforementioned subgroups, so i guess it's inclusion is somewhat redundant)

if you want to compare computers to cars.. we'll just call macs the rx-8 of computers. way overpriced for what you get and the quality backing it(or lack there of), and it really can only do 1 thing well(and one could successfully argue that windows can do design just as well as a mac).

meanwhile,.. we'll call pc's every other car on the market. anything you want to do, you can do with a pc.. especially if you buy a purpose built one(i mean,.. you could use a neon to go camping, but if you go camping all the time, you have a choice to buy a jeep to make things even easier!)

anyway.. to keep this on topic. the only virtualiztion ive used is CrossOver, and it sucked balls. slow as hell and barely worked with anything. i could use IE 6 on it, after about 9 minutes of loading.

i know zones pushes paralllels like crazy, but honestly id just go the boot camp route if it was up to me

/ i typed this post on a mac keyboard
//under windows vista ultimate
///the above comments are made for humorous purposes to illustrate a comparison between computers. if you are offended by anything i've said, please develop a sense of humor.
