either one will do their job just fine. However, out of those I would go with the AMD. For what reason? None really, I have just been using AMD for years and I know for a fact their processors they make last forever. Never had one problem with my processor I am running, ever. (I have a Athlon64 3200, older generation than the turion).

ppl say that all the time, but my dell kicks ass, and hasnt given me any problems since the day i bought it

a four year complete warranty and discount also helped my decision tho, i saved over a grand when all was said and done

my gf's dell inspiron sucks balls.
parts keep breaking off, but she did get it for less than a grand (dell does offer $750 off coupons alot of keep an eye out!)
dells are notorious for the dell screen wobble

I got a dell. and so does my friend, and most of the project managers in my company, I haven't seen too many problems with the actual machine, granted they drop them and they break but, it's not a tough book. My buddies has some screen wobble, mines still good though, and has run solid since day one. I did reformatt the HD but not due to failure, to set it up how i wanted it. Dell had like 3 particians. In anycase I'm not worried about that, but i'm sorry that your experience with dell isn't a good one. (not trying to be a dick)

i checked on the specs and performance differences and the AMD seems pretty competitive. I guess speed should be the deciding faster?
