Decisions Decisions...

Alright so as some of you already know I am in the market for a new car. I have considered a lot of different options, japanese and euro mainly, and I have pretty much narrowed it down two two different cars.

It's just tough trying to decide because both cars have their pros and cons.

1. A 2006 Magnesium Metallic (Charcoal) RSX Type S

Pros: Hatchback
I like the RSX Charcoal a little better (as far as color goes)
More parts available as of now (also made in japan = JDM goodies)
Cons: It would be used = higher mileage
Used Car = higher interest rates
Harder to find

2. A 2006 or most likely a 2007 Civic Si coupe in Galaxy Grey Metallic (another charcoal color)

Pros: Most likely if I were to go with the civic it would be a brand new car
New car = substantially better interest rate (and the appeal of a brand spanking new car)
More for your money
Stock LSD (Limited Slip Differential)
Faster than the RSX (new and improved motor)
Easier to come by

Cons: The civic styling is growing on me more and more, but I do really like the RSX styling

I test drove the Si for the first time yesterday and before the test drive, I was leaning towards finding a used RSX in the color and trim I am interested in but now I am questioning which route I want to go. I am not gonna lie the Si was faster and handled very well.

I know when it comes down to it its my choice to make I was just interested in what you guys thought I should do, or why you would go with one over the other.

I say get a new Si if you were happy with the test drive. Are you getting rid of the integra?

I take it back, here i go not reading again. rsx is still the better choice since the aftermarket has had a headstart. si's funky instrument cluster is sweet though

Yeah after driving the Si it really changed my view of the car. And yes sadly I will be selling the teg and replacing it with one of these cars.

Fair enough, I mean both of them don't really compare to what you own and drive but thanks for the input. I think a lot of people would be surprised by the Si and its performance, it surprised me.

Eh, it depends on how you look at it. I mean yeah I have a fair amount of time and money put into my teg and I love it. But at the same time both the RSX and the Si would be much newer and have much lower mileage, and all the perks of a new/lightly used car (ie. fresh paint, no little dings or dents). Not to mention both the RSX and Si are faster stock then my teg is now with the mods I have done to it.

240's are cool, but I'm looking for something new. I honestly felt the same way about the civic until yesterday. There is no denying that the civic is a faster car. Its sad to say but as much as I love the RSX I am beginning to realize how hard it might be to find one in the color and year I want that is within my price range and not hundreds if not thousands of miles away.

I believe you are right the Si runs on a drive by wire system and the Type S doesn't, but I'm not positive either. I understand what a DBW is but what does it really change?

Yes I thought about it. I'm more interested in a N/A coupe. Not to mention a WRX in my price range has a fair amount of miles on it.

I'm not gonna lie, I myself completely underestimated the SI before driving it.

Most likely my teg will be privately sold and put up for sale very shortly. And yes I will have some parts for sale, but a majority of the bolt ons which I installed I no longer have the part to put it back to stock because it was broken or worn out. So the car will be sold with an after market header, catback, and CAI.

You suck.

And I would go with the RSX as long as you get a type S. THe interior is awesome, the exterior is great, and there is a ton of aftermarket support.
