$600 for a 1989 Lincoln Towncar with 135,000 miles. Had a couple coolant leaks and a dead battery. I put over 15,000 Miles on it and now it is being sold for gas mileage reasons.

$700 for some wheels. While there were shipping issues that had NOTHING to do with the seller, even those were resolved in a couple days.

Bought over 50 items on Ebay, and while a couple sellers have been slow to respond and ship, I've never been scammed.

I have only been scammed once, and it was on an xbox 360. Guy had perfect feedback up until my purchase, then he went down hill. Ebay covered it up to a point, but they only go so far. PayPal is trying to get the rest back, but I am not holding my breath.

Woah, i was just about to post that!

Anyway, I've bought a good bit of stuff online, though only a little on ebay. The best thing to do is to pay via credit card with paypal. If there are any problems, go right through your CC for fraud, and let them deal with paypal. If you are buying on forums, have the seller call you, or you call them.

Also, in all my transactions in the past few years, I have arranged for shipping myself via DHL pick up at the sellers house. This way, you have their address, you know how much shipping really cost, and you know right away if it didn't get picked up.
