WTF is wrong with youse guys? Don't break the law, you won't get hassled. Run around with a chip on your shoulder, and WORSE YET, driving a '95 Eclipse with an AUTOMATIC....and you're going to get screwed with.

Think about it - many people have some trashed attitudes out there, too many people watch TV, and cops don't want to get shot. Others think it's cool to curse out a cop and try to play lawyer, and after the 14th time of that happening in a day, and YOU have an attitude, too...you think the cop isn't more than a little tired of that juvenile BS?

Got pulled over by 3 cops in Norristown for my exhaust being too loud. Of course, a week before I had been driving around open downpipe because I was still waiting for an appointment with Natedog to weld up my exhaust.

It was all fine and dandy, understood why he pulled me over etc. It's just that I was the only person on that entire road doing the speed limit. In fact, everyone else was easily doing 10+ passing me while I just cruised in the slow lane.

Twas rather amusing, the officer blatantly told me that my car was not a race car and that there was no reason for me to have such a loud exhaust. When he came back with my papers (which checked out) he goes "so uh... do you race this thing?" Handed him a few timeslips and next thing I know we're shooting the **** about whatever for the next 5 minutes about cars. :P

Still haven't gotten that ticket.

My mom got a ticket for this for the dealers info that they put around the plate.

She forwarded the ticket to the dealership and they payed it.

i parked in a sunoco parking lot and got a soda walking back to my car a cop car pulled behind me and the cop got out and walk like you were street racing if i see you down here again I'm taking your car. I'm like um i just walked out of sunoco and before that i was at ikea so i don't know where you got the info from because its wrong. then he started cussing at me and saying hes taking my car and this and that so I'm like ok take my car so i tossed my keys on my roof and sat down on the curb and was like I'm waiting lol. needless to say this pissed him off he then took my id and so on walks back to the car then 2 Min's later walks back to me and asks me if i know SO and SO and I'm like ya thats my dad he was like oh thats my Sargent lol then he handed me my ID back and was like i must have been mistaken and got in his car and left

I understand that much. What I don't understand is when local cops pull you over when you aren't breaking any laws, thus putting themselves WILLINGLY into a situation that could be potentially dangerous, and without any reason to think that I'm a menace to society. I can understand if I'm driving through town drunk at 3:00 in the afternoon at 100mph, but not at 10:00 at night, while driving the speed limit, after using a turn signal and stopping at a stop sign.

Nothing but law abiding citizens here and no one ever does anything that warrants police attention. It's a hugh problem here.

I had the same issues when I was 19 too.
