Some college student built a W-9 Engine - One Off

I wish I could have done this in college.

OMG that thing is amazing, but i would built my own chassis to put that thing in if I designed and built the motor too. Says it revs to 12,500 with over 500hp!!!

That's amazing. Wonder what it sounds like. An engine dyno video would be sweet.

3 liter and 500hp. That is very impresive. I think it would sound like a cross between and rb20det and a F1 engine. Just my .02 though. It really is an amazing feat. If you could sell that for under $10,000 i would pick it up without a doubt. However i am sure that motor even if made in more numbers would still be VERY expensive. The cost of the aluminum alone has to be a couple grand.

Why did they drop so much money into building a W-9? It doesn't even come close to a decent HP/L or HP/lb. Step back and realize this isn't a production motor, but a purpose built "race" engine.

Should've just bought a Judd

It is cool (in the sense, yea we can do that). I too would like to hear it.
