The appendix averages 10 cm in length, but can range from 2 to 20 cm. The diameter of the appendix is usually less than 7–8 mm. With an average weight of about 1 pound or 0.4536 Kilograms.

So, if we follow the general rule of every 100 pounds of weight removal on your average car equals .01 of a second off your 1/4 mile then we get.

1lbs/100=.01

.01/100= .0001 off of your quarter mile.

Lets assume you are running your quarter mile for example 1.

1 mile is 5,280 feet

5,280/ 4= 1320 feet

The average human runs at 15mph and can produce about .1 horsepower. Assuming you are in so so shape and weigh approx. 160lbs.

Soooo by following this formula for quarter mile times you were running the 1/4 at 160lbs at .1 horsepower.

Horsepower= weight x (velocity/234)^3

Congrats! With your Appendix, you can run the quarter at 68.12961330035976

And now! With your new JDM weight loss, you can run the 1/4 post-op at 67.98737987349848 seconds!

Okay, now lets figure out your 1/4 mile time while in your 90 camary. With a curb weight of 2811 lbs + 160lbs= 2971lbs, and with 115hp your quarter mile time is 17.220 seconds.

By following d=rt we can figure out you were driving at 79.1712575563734 mph.

Now lets look at your post-op racing 1/4 mile. With a curb weight of 2811 lbs + 159lbs= 2970lbs, and with 115hp your quarter mile time is 17.218 seconds.

Once again by following Distance=Rate(time) we can determine you were driving at 79.1712606060557 mph with no appendix.

Im actually pretty impressed, with no appendix you managed to shave .03 of a second off of your quarter mile time running. But when you were in the beast 90 camary you managed to only gain .02 seconds which is damned close to the predicted time.

Now go hit the track and test out my estimates!

Wow, any questions?

See, Im not a complete idiot lol.

You forgot to take into account the fact that after surgery he may lose even more weight because of being bedridden.

But if he were to go to the track right from the operating table then I would be almost dead on lol.

PWL (patient weigh loss) is impossible to estimate though.

Age, sex, eating habits, medications, metabloism, speed of recovery, quality of surgery all play a major in the patients weight loss.

Ok, so now we are racing cars as if we were swimmers? Lets all get together to shave our entire bodies, clip our nails, and remove un-needed body parts before every track day!

Do I need a tailbone? Spare kidney (might need that later)? We got 2 lungs right?

although we have two lungs, losing one would not help in running the 1/4 mile.
