Not to hate on Subies but the BMW S54 B32 has won the International Engine of the Year award for 4 or 5 years straight now (including 2006). Subaru won as well, but in a different displacement category. As you were... :P

But I am sure the exhaust is angled for back pressure to have a faster spool-up for larger size turbochargers @ low RPM

Lol. that gave me a good chuckle. But, what makes the 2006 subaru engine so good compared to it's predecessors?

The Bentley ad with the chairman flipping the bird kinda reminds me of one family member flipping off another one since Audi and Bentley are all part of VW.

How the hell does Subaru win engine design of the year with a 10 yr old head design that doesn't even have equal flow to all cylinders? They have a freaking dog leg port on 2 cylinders for Christ sake.

For proof that Suby Heads aren't designed worth a ****.
http://www.cosworth.com/uploads/1143828365.pdf

Engine of the year should go to Honda for the K-series as we are now just starting to see the full potential of these things. Mitsu's new 4g63 (or whatever is in the EVO9 now) would also be a good choice.
