The motor in them is wonderful. 2.3L of direct injected boosted goodness.

TQ curve on them looks like a small V8, max TQ is around 3k IIRC. They reach full boost quick and they do boost around 16-17psi stock. They have been on Ward's 10 best engine list since they came out.

I like it as a DD I have yet to drive one but have seen them around. Interior looks good (better than the EVO). Id like to go take one for a spin

I was at a Carnival at Giants Stadium the first time I really checked it out. They had a Mazda booth there.

Then the Rep says do you like it and do you want to set up a time to come to the dealer. I said I like it but I'll keep my EVO thanks.

That must have angered him cause he goes this car is way faster than any EVO and is way more reliable and has bettter resale. My GF and I basically laughed in his face as did all my friends that were with me and the couple other people standing around.

I then told him to read up and not to be an ignorant car salesman and he might actually sell some cars.

^^^ I don't know how the MS6 would match up against an EVO, since I'm not familiar enough with either car to make a fair comparison, but as far as resale -- I have no doubt that the MS6 will do better than an EVO.

An EVO has a relatively narrow target range, as far as who the car is 'made for'. But the MS6 has a more broad customer base -- it's more appealing to the average person, basically. So you'll have a much easier time selling a used MS6 for a higher price, than you will a used EVO.

There is no way that the resale of that car will hold up to an EVO's and actually I just checked and I was right it doesnt.

Same milage same year Mazdaspeed 6 is going about 3-4k less

They cost the same new too. Im not bashing the car I like it. I dont like car salesman that are douchebags

I do agree on the wider customer base but the Evo is way more rare and will bring alot more money espescially in the future. Since the 4G63 is done now

IMO Subie LGT > MSP6

I test drove both as we were looking for a nice daily driver. I'm >< close to purchasing the LGT. Price for 5sp manual I got was at $26k. The car has many more luxury features, huge aftermarket potential, and is a faster car in stock trim. Only issue with the LGT is that the suspension is a little soft, but that's easy to fix. The LGT is faster also, just look at any comparison test. Once again, just my $0.02 so take it for what it's worth.

The MSP6 is a great car, just not for the price. I would buy it for $22k at most, that's what it's worth to me in comparison.

the car wasnt meant to compete as far as i kno considering the weight diff.
i think this was more along the lines of an se-R altima cause that is tht car they put it up against on many comparisons, The car is also alot more about luxury and comfort than race ability

MSP don't run low 13s as far as I know. There are several LS1 Camaros running low 13s from the factory and the new Mustangs which I believe are also around the 27K range run mid 13s. I could be wrong but I believe the MSP was a very low 14 second car.

Besides this I'm pertty sure I saw a Volvo S60R today. Had the R on the rims. One of the sickest looking Volvo's I've seen. I was defiantly impressed.

some pages are showing high 13's on what i saw, it depens on where u look, and i also compared it to base v8 mustangs and camaro's......im not even a full fan of the msp i just like to see cars tht arent expected to do nething run impressive numbers so0o im just giving the car props

o0o yeah the s60R is the best sleeper i ever owned thts why i bought it, anyone can go out and buy an evo or an sti (im not knocking them but there becoming to common) but to research and find a moderatly priced monster tht are rarely seen or heard is what i look for
you would be amazed how many times ppl make fun of me about the car and at the end of the quarter are my best friend and asking me to see the motor hahahhaha im not tryin to toot my own horn but the car is great

Like I said speed is relative. A bone stock ls1 will walk it all day. I happened to line up against a silver one last time I was at island. It went a 14.4 @99 if that's fast to you, great, I'm happy for you. Don't rationalize that I said "domestics own all" i did not say that. If you want to go drop 25k+ on it feel free. And since you came at me with such arrogance feel free to show up with your volvo "lmao" and show my domestic what's up. "At the sheetz on schonersville rd Sat night with the other fast cars that wont show "machocrx, spoolindelsol" as neither will you" Hope this post was less "retarded" than my last. "or easier for you to comprehend". volvo lmfao

lol..

Off topic: S60R, don't kid yourself, your Volvo won't touch any LS1-powered GM product. Newer Mustang GT's...yes..but LS1s? No. Not a chance. Well, theres a "chance", being "driver error", but stock for stock, eh, no.

On topic: My uncle just bought one to replace his 12 year old Protege. ABSOLUTELY loves it. Was looking at a BMW, and when he saw costs over the years, decided to go more in the direction of Mazda.
