It just something you have to see first hand. I can't explain it to you. You either realize that because most of this country's political and business leaders are white people we have a natural advantage, or you don't. Granted things are slowly improving, but helping level the playing field plays a large part in that.

In a perfect world, race based scholarships would be wrong, but this is far from a perfect world.

The only thing that you are saying is that scholarships should be based on merrit and poverty, not race.

What are we "leveling" the playing field with?? You act like they are different species There is NOTHING to LEVEL the playing field with. We are all made up of the same DNA structure. Nobody is born at a disadvantange just because they are african america, asian, white, whatever they are. There are PLENTY of successful "minorities" that prove the "disadvantage" theory 100% WRONG. In case you didn't notice, I used the word MINORITY, as in, there are less of them, as in, percentage wise, there would be LESS (NOT THAT IT MATTERS SINCE WE ARE THE SAME DAMN SPECIES AND IT SHOULD BE IRRELAVANT IN ANY CASE).

And I am ALL FOR everyone being treated the same. But, as long as there is BET, the negro scholarship fund, the national hispanic society, and things of that sort, where whites are basically protested against and not wanted in the groups, there will be racism.

The diversity of this country is what makes the US great. But, diversity is not reason for racism. The whites need to stop blaming the "minorities" for their problems, and vice versa.

Everyone has an equal chance to succeed. You need to have the drive and motivation to do it.

Perfectly stated. It is ok to help people out with scholarships, but only based on merrit and necessity, not race. I'm done with this.
