wizard of oz hanging

im sure you have heard about the person hanging theirselfs in the original wizard of oz movies. im not talking about the newer versions (any in color) because they all have been redone to have a bird in the shot. but has anyone ever seen one of the original versions of this? can someone actuallys find evidence of this or find the video?

yea a simple search revealed that same page. They say its a hoax i cant tell from the picture what it is swinging back there

i watched that video up close. in that video its a bird no doubt about it. but i was told by a family member that, that scene isnt what originally was in there. that in the original film you see the person putting the rope on and jumping. not a little bird behind a tree.

also if you do alittle more than a simple yahoo search you will find that there are stories of it not being a midget. you will also find that it was someone that was mad they didnt get the role they wanted. just by searching the internet you will find numerous explanations. the one you posted just happen to the be first one you found and wanted to beleive.

does anyone have an original version?

If you go in to your bathroom, turn off the lights, look in to the mirror, and say, "Captian Hook, Captian Hook, Captian Hook", he will appear and kill you. I couldn't duplicate this, but my friends cousins girlfriends cousins brothers daughters friend died by doing this. Don't even think about doing the "Biggie Smalls, Biggie Smalls, Biggie Smalls" ordeal!!

so i have a person reading 1 article on the internet telling me its a hoax? so if i find a internet website that says im god will you beleive that?

i remember watching that as a kid and being freaked out by it, because of all the stories that people have told me about it ..lol its just like the story about the kid you see in 3men and a baby.

i dont think anyone really knows the truth, but the odd part is, that anytime you see that movie on tv, that scene is always missing or changed somehow.

I did a project on this for Public Speaking in college....

its a hoax...there is no hanging. I did a TON of research on it and analyzed tons of video clips. Its a freakin bird.

a lot of the explanations for disgruntled munchkins or other studio workers/actors hanging themselves on camera out of spite logicall dont make any sense.


the Three Men and a Baby thing is in one scene where there there appears to be a figure in the background of a scene that looks like a little boy. The story is that its a ghost of a boy who was murdered in the same building they were shooting the scene in. The 'little boy' is actually a cardboard cutout of actor Ted Danson that was used in a scene that was eventually cut from the script.

snopes is pretty much the end-all of hoax sites. i've never heard of it having incorrect information.

ive heard of this, doubt anyone has an original copy of the black and white, though i didn't read all the posts above me so i dno....ive also heard that in the Little Mermaid the priest has a boner, and i know first hand that in Aladin at one point, when he's outside of the girls window on his magic carpet, Aladin says " good teenagers, take off your clothes ", you ahve to turn it up really loud though

it doesnt exist. The Wizard of Oz was filmed in color in 1939. There was never a 'black and white version'. I dont beleive the theory that they 'changed' the hanging scenes and that in some versions you can see it. Its a hoax..


all the Disney stuff is fake too. The priest in the little Mermaid looks like he has a boner, but its really his knee-- the shot is just close enough that only one knee is in view. In futher away shots, there are two knees, and its obvious they are knees.

The Lion King, when he falls in the dust, the dust makes the letters SFX which was the name of the company that did sound editing for the film. Its easy to see why someone would think SFX is SEX when its written out in dust particles and it only visible for a few frames.

There are only a couple deliberate Disney screw ups that are reconized and have been changed. One is the phallic tower on the cover of the original Little Mermaid VHS case. The other is a picture of a naked woman in the backround of the movie 'The Rescuers'.

The reason why these urban legends are so widespread is people tell each other about them by word of mouth and never actually sit down and watch the scenes in question.

the guy i work with told me today he watched it in high school. he graduated in 1996. the video was in black and white and the guy was hanging. i showed him the clip of the bird online today and he said that is defently not what he seen. then the other guy i work with that is older said he seen it too. so i have people telling me that actually seen it before saying the video that is online is a fixed verison.

It was shot in Technicolor in 1939. That IS the original version. Most people had black and white tv's for a long time after that. It's amazing what people THINK they have seen when others tell them what to believe. There was no hanging, let it go!

but yet the "snopes.com" website shows it in black and white???


you saying the original was in color, then i would like to find the original film that was in COLOR version. since the snopes being the black and white was not original apparently.

so what excuse do you have now?

some versions of the little mermaid it's his knee. the orginal one, it's just where his zipper is. and it's cause he's so short it looks like that.

they are also numerous rumors that in one scene belle from beauty and the beast is naked. who knows.. i think they are all bs
