My one former roommate used to have this thing he did when a telemarketer would call, and it wouldn't involve claiming to be a cop or dead.
He would play along for like three minutes, working his way to the back porch by the glass recycling bin. he would start to ask a question, and smash a glass bottle in the bin, causing it to break, he would then play it straight "oh man, oh jesus, wow...i'm bleeding a lot." then ask a question, "wow, oh god! thats a lot of blood, i should probably get medical help" "wow, you know i would be interested, but holy christ am I bleeding right now, let me get back to you". When pulled off by someone who can keep it staright, it was hysterical. -Cliff
