Designed and printed some stuff inspired by another guy that's been doing 3D printing for his first gen twin.

DIY Battery

Not sure where you live but at our auto shop we've had to replace a lot of batteries lately because of the cold weather her in the northern United States. We're also DIY friendly so in the off chance you live where we service we can provide recommendations and/or support https://www.automedics406.com

I've been bored and spending time on some aero improvements. Started with a nice rounded/extended nose for my splitter, designed it to snuggly fit to my Racebred splitter (which is mounted upside down) and printed it out in ASA-CF

Thank you!

Worked on stiffening up my splitter mounting for when I add splitter diffusers. The Racebred mounting is totally fine for the diffuser when it's totally flat. The ends/sides are less stiff and if I'm cutting out a big piece of material to put in a diffuser I needed to support it properly. This was ~$35, used OEM holes in the chassis and only required light trimming of the fender liner and drilling the splitter for the elevator bolts. Plus it's all hidden so I don't look like *too* much of a ricer driving to work

Splattered a deer on the way to autocross yesterday. Car is fine besides the broken/destroyed half of the 3D printed splitter extension I had made.

I ran my wife's RX-8 in DST and then ran my car in non-comp. I finished 2nd in PAX in my wife's car and then beat that with my BRZ times (if they counted for XA) but still finished 2nd in PAX, haha.

Designed and fabricated a new rear swaybar with Karcepts style adjustment path and geometry that's correct for my rear swaybar geometry correction kit (that Ansix Auto is now selling as a product). This swaybar was inspired heavily by David Whitener's swaybar that he posted on Thingiverse a while back, so big thanks to him for sharing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6591373

I did some testing this past weekend and it works great. I might build a second version that uses a bigger diameter tube so I have more adjustment range instead of being maxed out, but that can happen later this year.

Installed a Harrop supercharger yesterday. Really easy install, only a couple of "hmm" moments when reading the instructions, haha. Bleeding the coolant was the single most time consuming aspect of the installation process!

I'm working with Xero-Limit on the tuning and he's made great progress in just a couple of revisions driving around on the street to adapt his knowledge from first gen kits to the second gen kits. Car feels great and we're not pushing for power yet, I'm hoping for ~325whp on a Dynojet (probably like 275whp on Xero-Limit's Mustang dyno, it's a heartbreaker)

Hell yeah!!! Let us know how you like it once you get more seat time. How much headroom does the new motor leave for adding boost in the future?

Had my first event with the new supercharger finally. It's freaking awesome! I love the power delivery, it's so smooth and progressive and easy to control. Not at all overwhelming, perfect for autocross.

Sadly I had a brain fart and plugged my mic in before I turned on the camera so the videos don't have audio.

I'm loving it! Such a nice addition, just feels like a bigger engine and it just *goes*

I think ~400whp is "safe" for the engine for my use but the trans and axles are not big fans of that, haha.

Dude, right? The fit and finish is awesome, it bolts on easily, it's all just very OEM+ and well worth the expense over the other S/C kits on the market.

Such a great build - good to see a s/c on top of it!

Made the trip up to the Finger Lakes SCCA Test and Tune/Points event combo weekend. We got my car pretty well dialed in and I took top PAX by around half a second. Working audio on the videos this time, hah.

Went back up to NY for the Finger Lakes National Tour. I had my buddy Tom O'Gorman, 2018 IMSA TCR Champion and many time SCCA Solo National Champion, drive with me... but apparently my tires died, so it was a pretty pointless event haha.

Last night I installed the GK Tech anti-dive kit. I like that it's adjustable vs the Jackson Racing kit, but it's "the same" for all intents and purposes. Tom had given me feedback on the car saying it's a bit "bound up" feeling on initial braking and sort of "snaps" into the turn as you release the brakes, hoping this helps and if not... I can put it back to OEM anti-dive easily.

Installed a RacerX catch can, I get a little bit of smoke on starts after an autocross event. I'm running 1 quart overfill so it's occasionally done it but the supercharger has definitely made it happen more regularly. The install is a bit of a pain with the supercharger, but still easy enough. I don't love the routing of the hoses and they're easy to kink so I'll be adding some internal springs to the hoses to help prevent kinking/collapsing.

The can itself it *super* nice and seems like it will be really easy to drain.

Got to test my car yesterday at a Philly SCCA event at Ripken stadium in Aberdeen. Kind of weird surface, but useful enough for making sure the anti-dive changes did what I needed and that the catch can worked as intended. Glad to report the catch can worked perfectly! I did slide some stainless spring stock inside the tubes to prevent kinking/collapsing.

The anti-dive is interesting. I'd like more time on this setup, but so far they feel like a positive improvement. It feels easier to control the weight transfer to the nose and the front of the car seems to bite into the surface a little more on hard braking and trailing in.
