1. get new plugs
2. get plug socket of correct size.
3. let block soak with a penetrating lubricant (wd40)
4. firmly yet gently loosen each plug as not to break each plug
5. install new plugs by hand as to not strip/ cross thread your head. once in feel free to hand tighten again no over torquing
shouldnt take you more then 30 min once they have soaked and the engine has cooled.

If anyone in state college has a drill I can borrow for a day it would be a great help? I need to repair a desk. I can offer you a few beers.

So, I just read that all alcohol vendors in State College will not be selling alcohol on Saturday due to our Penn State unnofficial holiday. I'm sure they will be very busy this week as people stock up on alcohol for this weekend.

Can any of you fine State College folks recommend a good detailer? I know there are a few chains over there. If there is an outstanding choice(s), I'd love to get my car detailed/paint corrected really soon.

Edit: Or if any of you, yourselves, do detailing on the side or something. It needs polished and swirls removed, etc. FWIW, I've got a black car.

If your willing to spend an hour and do it yourself, go buy a product called BlackBox at the Advanced Autoparts on N. Atherton. It made my 13 year old black car like like a brand new car. It is made specifically for black cars.

For some of the fine scratches, use compound, which you can also buy from Advanced Auto Parts.

You should see the rest of the pics:

The College Ave Bus Stop in front of Old Main.

Another College Ave pic:

I believe this is South Atherton by the fire company:

North Atherton by the IST building in front of the gym and Greyhound stations:

And I am pretty sure Vairo Blvd over by Walmart, Lions Crossing, The Point, Nitanny Crossing and the Village apartments is flooded big time between the Village and Lions Crossing apartments. That area floods when there is a normal rain storm.

Lots of basement apartments on Pugh street and the surrounding areas got flooded as well.

Holy crap. I can't believe I haven't heard about this. Was there a heavy rain storm or something? I lived there 23 years and never saw anything even close to that bad.

We had some incredibly heavy rain when that happened. It was several inches in a matter of hours I think.

Can any of you recommend a good mechanic in/around State College? Maybe someone VW/TDI specific? It's not for me, but someone on the TDI forums is looking for someone to do an engine replacement or something for their car in State College. I know all the good techs over here in Lewistown, but none over the mountain. I'd suggest just letting the dealer do it, which is apparently where it's at (not sure which one, State College Motors or whatever the euro dealer is, if I guessed), but I don't have any first hand knowledge.

For any of you that might stumble in here still...

Tomorrow, Saturday Sept. 7, 2013, is the annual Danny Bair Memorial Event at Beaver Springs Dragway. Gates open at 9, racing at 10. It's a test/tune day, grudge matches, etc.
