So, we're looking for a car in the 40-50K range

I figured this would be a fun thread. My dad is planning on getting a car that would be the "Toy" so to speak, or sunday driver. It has been ages since he's had anything outside of the typical commuter, but it seems like he's finally decided to begin looking into it.

There are a few qualifications
1. Low Mileage
2. Capable of being a driver... Could hop in and drive down to the beach without worrying about too many problems. Not a garage queen that only goes to a show 3 times a year. A TRUE DRIVER!

So far, this is what has been on the list.
1. Boss 302 (2011-2012)
2. 2013 Convertible Camaro SS, OR the indy 500 pace car edition.
3. 1992 Acura NSX, low mileage.
5. Audi Rs TT (We saw in a dealership lot, it was an older year going for 30K)
6. Used Porsche Cayman, most likely the base model.

I'd love to hear what this price range could score.

You could go with a 2012 or older GT500 for that price as well. C6 Vette's, CTS-V's, If you don't mind pick-ups A Lightning or SRT-10 Ram.

All really good choices. I think a grandsport would be awesome. Cool cars too. Not too exotic, but certainly not something you'd see everyday.

The viper is also an incredible choice.

As for the AMG's. I really like them a lot, but do they depreciate fairly fast? Not because of a reselling issue, but for the sake of grabbing one from say 08 for cheap.

And one last thing - http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-...sting=37192746
........Is this really the CTS-V that every raves about? Basically the supercar level caddy?

So far, this is what has been on the list.
1. Boss 302 (2011-2012)
You'll have a real hard time finding a 2011 BOSS 302 since thee weren't any produced that model year. Ford restarted selling the Boss 302 for 2012. You can occasionally find new Boss 302's on dealer lots because they tried adding $10K to the sticker price and nobody bought them. Now they want to get rid of them. You could also get a new 2013 Boss 302 for not much more than a used low mileage 2012 Boss 302.

The Boss 302 is a good daily driver, but you can also get a used GT500 for the same price with more comfort/luxury features.

For that price range, you can also get a used diesel pickup truck, trailer, and used race car if he really wants a toy.

You can't pick up a 360 or vantage in good shape at anywhere near 50-60. For a no problems, serviced correctly modena don't expect to find one under 85-90

Yeah thats it...I've never really been a big fan of the Coupe, but they do still make this car as a sedan that I think looks 10x better.

if he wants 2 doors...used C6 zo6
if he wants 4 doors...used Cts-v

nuff said...you wont find any better bang for the buck than those 2 vehicles right now.

only other ones i'd consider would be a late model M5 or Is-F. these are all in that price range.

This X2.

It's pointless to get opinions off of here on what he should drive. You'll get a better feel for when you are actually sitting in it and driving it.
