I've always run 26" slicks in my 5spd cars...whether on 15s or 16s. You'll be fine.

Perfect! thats all I needed to hear! because I kept reading how the 24.5 are ideal for 5speeds, but couldnt really find any info on people running 26s and how they liked them.
Anyways, I will see ya at the shootout! My car is as ready as a DSM will ever be to make a pass lol.

Long time since I posted in this thread wow LoL. Whats your guys opinions on the Moshimoto fan shrouds with the 12" fans in them? I just bought the X-Line radiator from ProjectX over in the for sale section. For now I'll just put the stock ones back on but I think I might pick this setup up. Just curious on your opinion because its 40 dollars cheaper to by the fans and mount them directly to the radiator. think the 40 bucks is worth it for the setup that is made to just mount right on the radiator?

If it's worth anything to you I have a Mishimoto radiator with dual 12" eBay fans with no shroud but ducting to force air into the radiator and never see above 200 degrees. I have a thick intercooler that blocks the air so I had to build ducting

Yea I have a nice thick FMIC as well thats why I'm thinking about it. How much you spend on the fans?

They're eBay fans. You can get them for mad cheap. As long as you have good ducting then there's really no worry of getting too hot.

Thanks I'll have to look. Like I said I'll stay stock for now considering moneys a little tight. In the past 2 months since I got it back I spent 700 total after buying the tokico blue kit with springs from extreme and getting it installed. Now I'm getting the radiator cost me another 270. Spent 5200 to the shop that rebuilt it. I'm sitting on a completely rebuilt engine, bored out 30 over. All new pistons rings and what not. External Oil cooler went in with new water pump. New 16G turbo. All said and done with parts and labor lol. Also bought a new set of rims and tires for I believe it was 350 I got off here same as the radiator. I'm trying to replace and fix all the stuff I planned on doing when I got it 4 years ago now that I got it back from its 3 year 2 shop trips lol

I had a mixed bag of experience with Mishimoto's stuff:
I had fitment issues on all 3 Mishi rads that I've bought, and for a radiator that was supposed to be a direct drop-in fit, it irked me a bit that all of my brackets in both a 1g and the 2G had to be modified in some way. The third was one I bought for my sister's car and the fitment was a bit better, but not exactly drop-in. It is a "budget" rad compared to Koyo and Fluidyne, and this was a few years ago, so hopefully their QC or designs are a bit better. HOWEVER, I will say that their warranty is stellar and their customer service was top notch when I called them and questioned the fitment, the need to trim brackets, etc. The guy who bought my old 1G even put an elbow through the unit when he was wrenching on the car and they replaced the unit without question with a receipt that even had my name on it. For the few minor issues I had, that kind of CS brings them back up into a positive light. |

Anyone need a white 1ga hood? $20 this week or it goes to the scrap yard. Yes, it comes with FREE LED washer nozzles....probably the fastest LED washer nozzles in the country!
