What would you think of this car Dipped

I normally try to stay away from posting ridiculous things on forums and let most of my ideas go on inside my head.

Anyway, I was watching - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jayyTUy3GTw

(PLasti-Dipped M3)

I'm not saying I have an M3, just a maxima. But then I thought "Well why not a little color change that won't hurt my paint?"

I finally saved enough for an exhaust and am almost up to get some lowering springs. My car now BARLEY gets away with the wheel gap only because of how modest the color it is. You see slammed/lowered cars with all of this crazy stuff going on like weird wheel colors, ect.

So anyway, I wanted to do a Matte orange, and leave the black rims, gloss side view mirrors, and gloss black roof.

(Not my exact car, but same model with the same lip kit)

So I would hope it wouldn't look to ricey, considering there is nothing rice about it in the white.

Any input would be great.

$400-$500 and you could use vinyl wrap if you do the work yourself.

Oracal 970ra Municipal Orange (thinking about doing this on my 2001 330ci but I'm really unsure if I want an orange car). This line of vinyl is very forgiving and has a small grid pattern on the adhesive side that helps with working out air bubbles.

Never seizes to amaze me what kind of things you can do to an M3 and still make it look good.

(not an M3 but just as nice)

Honestly though I think I may stick with the dip so its easier to remove!

That car would be way better off with white wheels and just normal headlights

Camera sucks, but the white is better than what it was before.

I keep forgetting why I just lurk and stay away from posting in this forum. I REALLY wished I had asked for opinions about my car, so your response would have been appropriate Insulin, but thanks anyway.

Yes, it is public forum, I don't mind people talking ****, but then on the flip side you will have people bitching about not voicing opinions unless they are asked for. Regardless I don't give a **** what anyone thinks, as long as I like it.

Spray it on thick enough, it will peel off. Too thin, then it will flake and rip before you get anywhere. The company suggests an entire can on each wheel. I used 1 can for 2 wheels a while back. Peeled it off recently without any problems.

I wanted to wrap, but too much money at the moment since I was getting ready to move (can't paint at the new place), and I have dents behind my driver door. If I had any extra money, it would have gone to a shop to fix the body damage first.

Don’t let it get to you, I’m just guessing the "Super Moderator" title got to his head, and he forgot about Rule C. http://www.tristatetuners.com/index.php?page=rules

anyways..

I have to agree, if u spray it with enough layers your good. we sprayed my girlfriends wheels with 5 layers and it has lasted 5 months with no problems.

Its true, it looks awful not to mention not a single body panel fits right.

and rule C deals with disrepect. not the cold hard truth - and i agree.

I like plasti-dip, but i've only used the actual dipping kind for my tool handles and tow hooks (stops the clink when i drop ****) - but i wouldnt do a car.

i'd do as others suggested and vinyl wrap the car, i mean hell, most of the panels are either removable or you have access to most edges, definitely DIY-Able

their "request a quote" option wasn't working and no one picked up. what is the typical fee for a whole car wrapped?

and if you were to chage your car from say black to red, do you need to update your registration info to say the color of the car? i know if you really needed to, you could just pop open your door sill to show the original color, but just curious.

Of course it is, its a honda civic, im surprised you didn't paint it with dog ****, toilet water, and 10w30. Even if you did, im sure there's someone on honda tech who would think it was awesome.

plastidip has its purpose but imo should not be used to paint a whole car. if your too cheap to get a paint job, just save up for one and avoid the headache its going to be with plastidip.

The reason people look down on Plasti-Dip is because too many ricers with busted ass cars just spray it over their dented/rusted cars and make it look like crap. If you apply it to a clean car with decent paint, it will come out looking decent.

I agree with the idea it isn't designed to be a 'whole' car paint. I think it best to use as a trial to see if you like something or just to accent some things. Maybe I'll do my Vette in bright pink just to be stupid one weekend.

I believe you have to update your info if you change the cars color. Showing the cops your engine bay or door jam probally wouldn't cut it.
