Since im full of silly idas heres another. What if for exhaust I did just catless downpipe, long resonator, turndown before rear axles?

Here's a view of a custom system

I was thinking of running a resonator as long as possible and using a turndown where furthest flange is in the pic above. (pic is looking underneath towards the rear, the pumpkin at the top of the pic is actually the end of the transmission.

Shop near my work is going to build me a cat-back. 2.5" pipe size. There is going to be a Magnaflow muffler diagonally underneath the car with smoother bends, it will exit the same place. The muffler is a 3"in, 3"out, so they are going to flare the pipe to a 3" right before the muffler entrance, and finish with a raw metal 3" tip.

After this, I will have my friends put the FM downpipe back in, as a catless unit. It will basically be a straight pipe but with the Magnaflow.

Curious how it will sound . This is going to be built tomorrow. Cost is $320 with the muffler, welds, install, seems like a great value.

What it should sound like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cZ7f0lry7w

Went to do the downpipe yesterday, didn't work out. I was too intimidated to tackle it myself and my buddy was hung over. Going to wait for the catback to come and then a friend's shop will put it all on for me for cheap. I did manage to lower the rear a little more, and I'm replacing some of the bent bracing under my car with a used set I found on eBay, but not before I do some painting. I want to start refinishing certain things under the car, just give it a refresh after mods are done. This is what I'm aiming for with the underbody

After a few more miles driving with the rear lower, I am happy as can be. All of the wheel lift on corner exit issues are gone and the car feels much more stable and grippy. I took a turn the other night so fast I was literally almost leaning out of the side of the car. She needs seats and harnesses sooooooo badly

Yea, Bar is like $150, I don't know how much a good set of belts is. If I get them, I want them FIA approved or whatever so I can actually run them when I do track stuff.

If you're not willing to bolt the 5-6 pt to the floor, look into the Schroth with the ASM. DOT, SCCA, etc approved across the board.

Buddy of mine had a custom bar made for his 2011 STi for around 150. Bolted right in.

Funny thing is he found harnesses for 50 bucks total. Guy who had them was just clearing out his garage.they were sent back to sparco, free of charge I believe and recertified.

It's definitely to be done soon. Meantime, today I started some painting because my chassis pieces came in earlier than expected. I had 4 cans of this red paint, we bought them back when momma dukes had a 97 Civic HX, no idea why so many, but at least its less to buy now. Here's one finished, both sides are like this, pretty happy with it.

Where can I get Black and Silver POR15? There's a few other thing I'd like to spiff up (control arms, pinchrails, exposed belly braces)

Also got the rear hook on. No I'm not overloading this thing with red..

Yeah, but harness bars are rarely certified by any race organization. In fact, they are generally more dangerous in roll-over scenarios than your stock 3pt harness.

Believe me,told him about it. He plans to have a roll bar added.

The harness bar is solid and the way it's installed in the car it stiffens it up quite a bit.

I kept going back and forth on whether to get more fuel in this thing before the flash and it's gonna have to be a yes. There is only one small dillema. My injectors look like this (they are skinny)

Most others look like this

The other thing is I need them to be high impedence. The best deal I found so far on a set of OEM 1 year old 440cc RX-8 injectors (drop-in for my car) are $250. Also, with them tuning for the bigger injectors, it brings the reflash up to $850. I am getting a free intake made so that cuts some cost out, the same guy who designed the blow-thru is going to make me a conventional kit and do a straight swap.

I can spend 750 on a reflash and make around 200whp
or
I can spend 1100 on fuel and flash and make around 220whp and finally be free of my 265cc, and not have to worry about going lean if it gets cold, etc.

I should be ordering the injectors today!
