any recommendations? preferably central NJ.

not looking for just any shop as i know of plenty around me, looking for specific artists specializing in realistic and even better, floral designs.

Ok I have never gotten work done by Jay, but I did get my last piece at Starlight Tattoo, but my artist moved shortly after finishing mine up. Jay has been there for a long time, and I have been present for a bunch of my friends getting work done by him. Want work done, go to this guy! I plan on getting my future work done by him since my guy moved down south.

Last I checked he has a HUGE waiting list, but check out Kevin LeBlanc over at the shop I go to.

Shop: http://www.whitelotustattoos.com/

Kevin: http://www.kevinleblanc.com/

My artist is Dan Paone, he's really good too, as is Desmond... but Kevin is spectacular, especially if you want something realistic.

Yea the pictures are bad, but so are the pictures of the work Mario Barth has done, and he is considered one of the best artists in the world.

Starlight does amazing work, and always has guest artists come in and do work.

Where are you located. I have a tattoo artist in Elizabeth. His work is AMAZING. His name is Martin. Here is some of his work that hes done. Tell him TJ sent you. He has a real good visual and comes up with some nice ideas as he tattoos. He has real good prices as well.

Here is one of the tattoos he did for me.

best hands down...
keep in mind you get what you pay for,. normally "good prices" & good artisit dont go hand in hand, most of the great artist know they are top in thier field & their prices reflect it.

These are exactly the recommendations I was going to make.

I've met Kevin many times and the White Lotus guys. They're always at our local conventions (Allentown/Philly) and Kevin guest spots at shops up my way a lot. He's a chill, down-to-earth guy as well... not at all a "rockstar", though he would have every right to be.

There are a lot of good artists in the tri-state area but if you say Jersey these guys definitely come to mind first.

...and I'm in the biz, so I kinda know what I'm talking about a little. My mentor has been getting work from Kevin for years and even got some mentorship from him as well. Then when I was apprenticing he brought me along for a couple sittings so I could watch and talk to him. He's awesome. And he wouldn't work with anyone who wasn't up to par as well.
