Try making an account and posting up on ModelMayhem.com - most new models will shoot TFP/TFCD with you. No money exchanges hands. Do you have a model release? If not, you need one... Trust me...

Had a model one time who was 21, but didn't have a ton of money. I dropped my rates a bit for her and allowed her to pay me half up front and the other half 2 weeks later. Well, the other half didn't show so I texted her. No response. Facebooked her. No response. E-mailed her. No response. Called her. No response. Tried a couple more times over the course of 1.5 months. Finally, I posted one of the photos that I had shot and edited of her to Facebook. I tagged her in it:

11 hours later after I'm sure her 'rents, friends, etc., saw it, she said I had to take it down, etc. But the waiver she signed allows me to do whatever I like with any photos I take. Some dude showed up at my house later that night with cash in hand. I took down the photo (on Facebook at least). I have the full size image on my MM.

I do have a mm account. I feel
Like no one on there is serious about it. Unless you are paying them, even of they are new. how on ever did you get the model to pay you?
What's your MM
And where did you shoot that pic. Do you have a studio,

You just need a decent port for girls to want to shoot with you. Mine isn't updated, or that good IMO. I've been out of portraiture for 1-2 years now, though. Just do a search for models in your area. Even if they say they're looking for paid work (they all are) just shoot them a message and ask if they'd like to shoot with you. I dunno, I never had a problem finding girls to shoot TFP, and even paying me. Just keep shooting and working at it. Post on Facebook if you have to.

Honestly, I used my bedroom. At the time it had white walls and I had white foamboard to use as backgrounds. Made editing a breeze. I also have lighting myself, etc. I have a studio here at work but I don't use it for portraiture.

You don't necessarily need to use strobes. If you want to practice on portraits, you might want to just work on it with natural lighting and then move towards strobing. Large windows work well for back-lit images.

I'm not a portrait photographer, so these were the first portraits I've taken in 5 years. I kept it simple and didn't use any strobes other than a ring flash for a few images. The two posted above are with natural lighting.

^^i was talking about using strobes for cars. IMO I feel that the give em such a nice touch.

However I love natural light on people. Thats usually what I do
