That ain't bad for 2 cords. Delivered? I was lazy this summer also and now am in need, I'm not giving away my secrets just yet.

Craigslist... What a pain in the balls to sift through though.

I hate craigslist so much (for firewood), its such a hassle to look for, then you get people putting up furniture and park benches and crap

There are always a lot of people giving away wood on CL you normally have to cut it and split it.

I split/sell/and deliver wood on the side with a friend. I get only clean wood from tree services. I have roughly 25/30 cords seasoning as I type this, and they should be ready by jan. if your interested. $240 per cord delivered. More $ if you want it stacked. I also have a large pile of sectioned, un split logs for sale as well that couldn't be put through my 6 way splitter.

pm me if interested.

You can get a permit at any state park to cut up any fallen trees. Pretty cheap I might add. You tag the tree you want and cut it up and load yourself. Pretty sure they still do that.

Also thee is plenty of places where if a tree has fallen you can cut it up for free...

I have some scrap lumber. Some beams and a few 2x4's if you want it you can have it. Not exactly fire wood but does work.

Haha, you make it sound like it's easy or something. Cutting up and splitting an entire tree is not easy, nor is it cheap if you want to do it fast. You'd be better off buying the cord. Not to mention, burning a fresh fall is usually not that good, the wood needs to dry first.

OP, where are you located?

I just knocked down a couple trees and have a few more to yank out the brush on private land. May have just secured the winter needs.

Hell, we already blew through a little less then a 1/2 cord- F the oil man.

Are you around Levittown? I (along with the rest of L-town) run around the green belts, depending how deep you want to get there is still some around.

Most municipalities require a permit to cut wood in random right of ways. Again, FYI

I may do the same thing. Just don't get caught by the wrong person. Although Philly has higher priorities....

I have been doing it for years I even had a ranger walk by me and not a word. Just don't cut it down or cut anything in the park and your fine. Get what fits in your or truck and cut at home.
