Hurricane Irene

Who's ready? Latest:

Not gonna lie, I love this kinda ****. Blizzards, bad storms, anything out of the norm. For those of you who lived near Huntingdon Valley in 1999 during Floyd, this will be a similar event rain-wise. We had between 12-14" in the Huntingdon Valley, Willow Grove, Abington area. Floyd was only a Tropical Storm when it was by us. Irene is projected to be a Category 2 Hurricane, so winds should be much stronger. Not sure how was Floyd was, but Irene is currently around 800 miles wide....

Floyd track:

Oh I am sooooo ready.. I miss my crazy ass Fl weather! 8 yrs since the last hurricane ( isabel and that wasnt jack chit ) here.. yeah Im ready.. Growing up dealing with them in FL, I never thought I would be excited for one.. I used to dread them.. lol.. Like foolin said.. this is gonna be NOTHING compared to what I have seen growing up in FL.. Andrew was the worst by far, but so many others were pretty nasty as well. Hurricane party anyone?

I'm excited =)
Hopefully it'll be bad enough that I won't have to come into work. Not tryna be out driving Sunday morning. It'll be bad and even worse at 3:30 when I would be on my way home.

Sounds like a lot of guys are tucking their cars away, just in case. I'm wondering if I should do the same...

Yeah This ain gonna be chit.. Yall freakin for no reason. Troll.. you have some nice cars, and a garage ( atleast from pics and stuff I would think you do ) Park em in there they should be fine. If you dont live near a bunch of trees you have nothing to worry about aside from MAYBE garbage cans , Patio furniture, etc. Just remember to bring all that stuff in if it isnt bolted down , or you will lose it.. lol. Seriously tho, I would be amazed if we got anything more than rain and at best tropical storm force winds. Those who have access to a parking garage, park there.. you will be fine and it wont be that nasty out. just a lil wind and a whole bunch of rain... At worst maybe a hair worse than the severe thunderstorms that came thru last week.. But I highly doubt it. Jersey shore and Delaware shores.. Board up your windows or tape them.. Take a little more precautions than the inland needs to but I am sure you guys will be fine.

Many of the shore points from Md. to Nj. have issues mandatory evacuations already. Time to batten down the hatches.

Anyone have a garage I can borrow? LOL.

I'm supposed to stay up all night Sunday to watch the sunrise. I bet it will be beautiful since the sky is usually amazing after a storm, and this one is huge.

which is odd cause chincoteague Va hasnt gone mandatory yet...they are asking visitors to hold off on coming there tho. At this point the elderly and handicapped should be leaving.. Still i dont think this is gonna be as bad as everyone thinks.. Then again I am from FL so my perception of a bad hurricane is far different from people who rarely get them's lol
