mainly from a mk4 standpoint, there where better options i guess I should say. This isn't really the case with mk5+ AFAIK

wow what year was your vette then, 08 or newer obv, but that is crazy. i kind of see where you're coming from though, because you do have to want to be in the mood to drive it, with it bottoming out everywhere. my fiance has an 08, and he wanted to make it a little faster; 13k later its supercharged and meth injected. it is ridiculous money to keep up with. he called the other day to race proven to ask how much it'd be for an automatic, since he tracks it a lot, they told him 25k. mike was like, uh, how much for the cheap one? and they were like 15k. crazy money. i'm actually looking for a second car, and keeping the evo as a daily. i've got about 26.1k to spend, and i'm not into the finance thing, that's just how much i have to spend, and i'm torn between a c6 and ~07 lotus elise - kinda polar opposites just like your situation, but i can definatley relate. i like different things about each. that's awesome that you're happy with your decision though, i hope you have good luck with it! also, white is the best color, hands down.

Sad to see such a powerhouse of a vette go, but that TT is a nice car, good choice!

It's not even offered in Manual. The DSG is pretty sweet, first time owning one.

The Vette was an 09. Yeah I was close to pulling the trigger on an ECS Supercharger Kit (paxton Novi 600 head) w/ meth. If I did I certainly wouldn't have traded it simply because of all of the money lost. It was bad enough giving it away with the tune, intake, and headers. I pulled all the other goodies off:
- carbon fiber door handles
- led tails
- shift knob
- ds vettes padded leather consol lid

So....if your fiancee is looking for any goodies send him here: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...-for-sale.html

Nice pickup, my friend that has a GTI said he wishes he would have held out on tuning and went with unitronic over his giac x+ tune. He had his car chipped at awe.

Now my pants fit funny...

Car looks amazing! Question, why did you opt for the S-tronic trans instead of a full blown manual?

Manual is not an option on the TT. However if it were I'd probably still opt for the DSG/S-Tronic.

Manual not a option? WHAAAAAAAT!?!?!

Still a sick car, and I would deff buy one with that S-tronic regardless. Is it a paddle shift or is it just one of those rally style bump shifters?

Not quite sure the difference. It's got paddles on the steering wheel and utilized a true dual-clutch tranny. Shifts way faster than a human can.

VW/Audi DSG is an amazing trans and can handle a good amount of power before needing any upgrades. I personally thing APR parts are completely overpriced (pricing on tunes are OK). I'd go to AWE for a GIAC tune and look around for different turbo back systems to see what fits your taste best

DSG is the way to go. It may feel jittery at first but you will get used to it. Nice car.

Thanks. Looking forward to finishing the break-in to try out the launch control. ...Then getting it tuned.

To be honest I haven't used the manual mode much yet. Break-in procedure says to keep the rpms and speed down. Keeping in it in regular "D" seems to do the trick. Shifting on my own I'd be taking it to redline a bit too often.

PS Does the GTi have "S" mode on the shifter selector? It definitely seems to linger in lower gears in that mode.
